Minjae huffed softly sitting down in the chair. A frown graced his lips, “ugh, he told me to come back today to look at my transfer credits? I’m still in the system as a freshman and he told me they’d fix it,  I’ve had my uni in Spain fax over the information six times they’re gonna start charging me, just fix it.”

They stretched their arms towards the ceiling. “Lets see what I can do.” Carter put on their glasses. “Do you have your student ID on you?”

Minho stared at the man and shrugged. He didn’t really care who the adviser was as long as he knew his shit. “Okay, well, how long are you here for?” He question, hoping that it wouldn’t be for too long, honestly.

“Three days-a week at most.” They replied. “Depending when he is allowed to crutch place to place.” Carter sighed. “But enough about him, I assume you needed help in something.”

Working in a cafe meant that Daesoo encountered all types of customers. He’d interacted with his fair share of rude or horrible customers and also kind and happy customers. Every day was different and Daesoo never knew which he would encounter. He turned to look at the customer who had just spoken. He bowed slightly and smiled. ❝ I apologise. I hope you enjoy the rest of your drink. ❞

They sighed at the other. “Its fine but I am trying to read my emails.” Carter looked up once more t the waiter. “Could I get another cup of coffee and maybe some creamer too?”

Another bit of a grin before he tipped his head down, doe eyes going half-lidded as he took a seat and leaned back into it, apparently thinking over what he had to say.

“I believe I was called in, both to speak about my final year here and some concerns a few professors ‘shared’,” Kiran snorted a little, lifting his gaze back up to Carter, though his bangs broke up the rather apathetic stare-down. “Something about concern over sleep and possible 'aggressive behavior.’ But, last i checked, it was not against the rules to not be friends with everyone.”

He cocked his head a little, eyes dropping to the other chest for a moment, then back up to his face, “Wouldn’t you agree, hm?”

Carter rolled their  eyes. “You’re half right.” Carter stated. “If you don’t want to talk to people thats none of my business. “ They paused and took a sip of their  coffee. “However if it’s affecting say your participation in group work then I can see why it might cause trouble.” Thats they believes anyway.

“I would recommend seeing someone about that- thats not an advisor’s job.” Carter checked their files. “If  they want me to discipline you, tell them I gave you a warning.” Carter examined the other. Kiran seems to be honest with him but he couldnt be sure. 

“This is the part where I do ask you for your student ID.” He explained. “So I can see which classes you have left.”

Doe eyes watched the other’s movements carefully, arching a brow after a moment while he glanced down towards the professor’s chest, eyes catching glimpse of something otherwise unseen by just about everyone else.

Kiran lifted his gaze once more, “Were you the accident, by any chance?”

Was it even his turn right now? Who knew.

Carter raised their  eyebrow and then smirked. It wasn’t the typical response they would get. Of course they dont want to incriminate themselves. 

“I was involved with him but the accident was upon himself.” Carter clicked his tongue. “Such a shame too.” 

They cleared his throat. “But that’s not why we’re here-  I assume you needed to talk to him about something, correct?”

“Unfortunately your current adviser was involved in an accident.So I’ll be filling in for the time.   ” Carter said in a very rehearsed matter. “Before we start let me introduce myself, my name is Professor Han.”

✧       One yawn after another, Yereum stumbled left and right on the street. She wasn’t drunk, it was broad daylight out but maybe she was giving off that type of aura with how she was acting. She was just tired from all the studying without rest. Pulling all-nighters for days while running on caffeine and energy pills wasn’t the best idea ever. Unfortunately, she had no other choice because these essays weren’t gonna do themselves and these readings weren’t gonna read themselves either.  Stumbling more, Yereum found herself walking straight into a person. Her legs gave way as she felt her body slide down. She was going in and out of consciousness. She blinked her eyes to keep herself awake but it was proven to be difficult. At this rate, she’ll just pass out on the stranger and that was exactly what she did right as she muttered an “oh no…”

“You are not allowed to dress like that in my class.” Carter enunicated to the student outside for the third time. “You have to wear a lab coat during class because of saf-” Carter paused when he heard the thud. The momentary shock was replaced with concern. “Call the emergency number.” Carter went back into his office to retrieve the water bottle. He kneeled down and position the girl laying down. He attemtped to talk to the girl before fearing the worse. 

“If you can hear me, raise your palm.”

Working as a waiter meant every day was never the same. There were some regulars who Daesoo would get to know over time and there were other customers who only came in once or twice. He liked to meet new people. Everyone had their own story and he loved knowing them. He was currently serving a customer who had just made him laugh. ❝ So that was a latte, correct? ❞ He asked once he finished his laughing fit.

Carter was at the other table reading his emails. He overhead the laughter and was annoyed. it’s too early for this in his opinion. After what felt like eternity, Carter finally spoke up. “And maybe you too can keep it down there?”

Come to think of it she plans a lot of stuff out including his whole career

She probs wanted Carter to be governor smh so she classically trained him

But the South Korean government wasnt having any of that so Carter went to school

He was lowkey manipulated by other people- being someone who was considered a foreigner and gay didnt help matters

Carter did try telling on people and for a while the bullying stpped bt he was confronted again

Althugh this time he bit the bully and he got sick 

His mom was proud of him though and told him about his heritage

is safe to say Carter was kinda pissed and moved away to college

They were gonna rekindle but shit happened and he never saw his mom again

So he was like f*ck it and became a professor rather than a doctr

Thats about it- other than that Carter is a guy who got messed up other tuff he couldnt control and he cant help being a cynic. Looking forward to interacting with you.
