💔 My Mother’s Life Depends on Your Kindness
My mother is in Gaza, where every day is a struggle to survive. Some time ago, she was injured when shrapnel from nearby shelling struck her back. She tried to endure the pain for as long as she could, but now her condition has become critical.
She has now been admitted to the hospital, and her condition is very serious. She is suffering from unbearable back pain, extreme exhaustion, and every passing day brings more suffering. Watching my mother fight through this pain while I can do so little is heartbreaking.
The doctors told us that she urgently needs emergency back surgery. They warned us that the operation must be performed within the next 6 days to prevent her condition from deteriorating further.
The cost of this life-saving surgery is $1,000.
Thanks to the incredible kindness of compassionate people, we have raised $292 so far ($188 from our previous appeal and $104 from our latest one). We are deeply grateful for every donation.
However, we still need $708 to give my mother the surgery that could save her from worsening pain and complications.
I am begging you from the bottom of my heart: please don’t scroll past my mother’s suffering. Time is running out, and every hour matters.

I'm happy to finally post this custom because I was working on it for the longest time.
My starting point was when Fang vote Rochelle was released. I was thinking at first that I should try to recreate the doll (since I could never afford her) (I was thinking of using a scaris Rochelle since I really don't like her fit). But then I thought, in all honesty, that I didn't really like the doll. (plus, I think all fang votes are pretty messy since the designs are chosen through votes, weird stuff to me, but that's besides the point). The dress looks more 19th inspired than anything. And there's too much blue. ("what is wrong with you ?? why are you blue ??"). So I was thinking very thoughtfully about doing a custom but not really commiting since I only had one Rochelle doll at the time.
I managed to snatch a Rochelle basic while thrifting so I had the opportunity to do something with my poor childhood doll that I loved too much (my second ever mh doll, her head is broken </3).
I wasn't really interested anymore in making the fang vote Rochelle. I wanted to try something else. So I was like, I should try to design a skullector medieval Rochelle. I love Rochelle and I think she deserves a good medieval design since she's a gargoyle.
I made this in february :
So what I was aiming for basically is to put both medieval gothic and present gothic in the outfit. Inspired by the original outfit, I didn't use any blue, only black and white. Didn't change anything on her face because I don't want to touch my childhood doll. (black lipstick would look awesome though)
the hat is a hennin (15th century). The Hennin would be white while the gown would be black (balanced, as all things should be). Here the fabric that comes out of the hat would be black fabric plus fishnet (? idk if it's the right word, english is not my first langance and I'm exhausted). I was thinking of putting only fishnet but then I changed my mind again.
the earrings are stuff I already had (one lonely Draculaura earing form the bathroom playset and a deformed spiked earing I think is from Clawdeen that I painted black)
I genuinely forgot that the fang vote got braids on the front. I had just watched Hamlet (Laurence Olivier) and got inspired by Ophelia's hair.
The dress is inspired by surcoats (more 12th century)

Some pictures of the wip (don't look at the mess, yes the tp roll was a test for the hat). This was in february/march. Not a lot of stuff are sewn together (the elements are detachable, the sleves or the belt for example). It's on purpose, easy to dress up, easy to detach. Also, the fact her head is broken was a bit helpful in the process.
How I sew the gown make it kinda look like a 19th century gown (can't escape the curse *sad emoji*). Also, I didn't really thought about the shoes since the gown was going to cover them anyways. She has shoes though (Draculaura's scaris shoes).
Then I had to do the hat and I knew it was going to be annoying so I paused the project (kind of). I'm free of uni so I finally decided to try something. It was kinda messy (as expected) but I managed to do something correct. But then, it wasn't so funny that her head can detatch... because the hat is a bit heavy and it makes her head fall </3 the hat can hold but only by pure force of will </3 Also I had big problems with the stand, it kept detaching ! I even changed it, but it kept poping up... (don't get me started on the photo shoot haha </3 *sound of a lego breaking apart*)
Anyways...
I'm very proud of it overall ! I'd love to find some wings for her, I think it's something missing in her silouhette.
I made her a little medieval inspired bag on her belt but you can't see it on the pictures </3 it's so cute too... I'll try to take more photos tomorrow. (edit : here the little bag !)
