I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
Don't leave your friends and even acquaintances to go to the hospital alone. If they don't have someone already going with them and don't explicitly tell you they don't want you there, go to advocate for them. Outcomes for sick people change dramatically when they have someone else there to observe doctors (making them know they can't get away with negligence) and note symptoms from an outside perspective.
Going to the hospital is scary and even someone totally unprepared to be a medical advocate or physical support will be better than nothing, purely from their presence. You can grab food, be there with your phone to search if theirs dies, go in search of a doctor, distract them from pain or discomfort... go with them.
Or to put it more succinctly: Men have been forcing women to do all the work since the beginning of the gender binary and if you as a trans woman say that you don't really like being forced to do all the work you get accused of being male socialised, because men don't like doing work. (You certainly don't get the benefit of the doubt that you were talking about it being unfair to all women that literally anyone else would get.) And this is seen by some as a feminist position, rather than telling women to stop complaining about having to do all the work.
And it's not just open transmisogynists who are like this. Everyone does this. Everyone scrutinises trans women and thinks the absolute worst of anything we do. A cis woman or someone AFAB complaining is normal, EVEN if they word it weirdly. A trans woman could word something perfectly and have academic citations for it and still be accused of being a newcomer to oppression by someone labelling themselves an ally to us. You are not immune to seeing the worst in us. It's not just terfs. It's everyone. It's friends and family and the people we love and date. It's other trans women even. We are scrutinised as "male" in a way men never are. Because it's not actually about men. It's about having a way to force women to do all the fucking work! Especially for people who usually don't get that kinda power over women.
"Women you can force to do the dishes. Women you can force to do all the dishes." or something like that.
It can be easy to confuse the two, but you don't actually "wish you were more disabled", you wish your disability was taken seriously and was properly accommodated and that you had access to the support and resources you need - and that desire is so valid. You deserve more. But the sad truth is that no level of disability actually guarantees a sufficient level of support. So you have to work to separate your very understandable desire for more support from the incorrect assumption that other disabled people are consistently receiving what you aren't. All of us are getting fucked over in this society, and no group of disabled people actually has it easy.
MY FUCKING CAR
illustration from the Soviet magazine for young children Merry Pictures (Весёлые картинки), nr 5 from 1957
The mythical disabled person who is so disabled that everyone consistently supports and accommodates them without question is a straw man which only exists as a hypothetical for the political purpose of denying real disabled people care while still being able to argue that said care would be accessible to disabled people who "actually deserves it"
there is something very sad and humiliating about having to desperately beg doctors and family members to understand that involuntary institutionalization does not in fact help your mental health, knowing your perspective will always be dismissed at the end of the day
it's such an awful existence to be a psychiatric patient as a teenager, there has to be another way to help aggressively suicidal teenagers, such as addressing the circumstances that make them want to die so much in the first place! you can stop suicide by locking someone up, sure, but they will not want to live
No offense but if you're exclusively attracted to white people or cis people that is not a neutral or unbiased thing lmao. I know that may sound uncomfortable. But attraction is not this infallible thing that's completely uninfluenced from broader forces.
wish online communities discussing autism in women weren't like, doing their best to contribute to the false perception there's a distinct Autism For Boys and Autism For Girls, when the whole time it's just social enforcement of gender roles influencing behavior
Crazy how all of commieblr know dushanbabe, mellodrammattic, ponyboytheworld, lesbianfidelcastro, and stalinita!!
it really is amazing to me that even the so called feminists and anti racists and such on this site go absolutely ballistic when you tell them that living in the imperial core means you benefit from imperialism, and that you are privileged in that factor

"Overconsumption is bad because we have limited resources on earth and the production of your comforts is done by practically enslaved global southerners" - yes real. Fucking real and true.
"Overconsumption is bad because you will get fat and lazy and stupid and fat and your brain will rot and youll be a feeble whiny disabled" - okay you are a eugenicist. Can you fucking hear yourself
Eid al-Adha has arrived… and my four children have no Eid clothes, no food, and no joy.
Little Lynn cries every day saying:
“Mom, I want shawarma, ice cream, and cake…”
And I stand there helpless with nothing but tears.
My son Noor only wishes for a simple birthday celebration, but I cannot even fulfill their smallest dreams because of poverty, unbearable prices, and the harsh war that stole their childhood.
My heart breaks every time I see deprivation in their little eyes.
My children are not asking for much… they just want to feel like other children.
I beg every kind heart to help my children with any donation or even by sharing this post.
Your support could bring them Eid joy and provide the food and clothes they dream of. 🤍
