sex education really said “but you have to let the people you love know that you love them, even if it causes you a great deal of pain.” “why? it sounds awful.” “because you’re alive.” and i think thats very brave of them
You know what gets me about Jackson's story? He's literally the kid who thinks his own problems are part of the reason why his parents are fighting and so he tries to take up as little space as possible to "make things better" in the household. As if that's his responsibility or even possible. But he sort of never stops believing.
It's the very main reason why I relate to Jackson. When he lets Viv know he's self-harming because of "pressure", it's obviously his mental disorder talking, but also a potentially neurotypical child's reaction to feeling that he has to fix his home life by making himself as non-problematic, as quiet, as "non-threatening" as possible.
That's why one of my favorite scenes of the year is that small scene when his mothers are fighting downstairs and he almost physically inserts himself between them, promises essentially that he'll do whatever is necessary, even cancel himself, just to make them stop fighting.
Don't worry about me, i'll never be a problem. Look at these medals, look at how well I'm doing, there's no need to fight about me because I am not a problem. I can and will go through life on my own, because, from my skewed perspective, it has been working so far. Even if I have to reduce myself, it'll be worth it.
i love it how ruby INSISTS that everyone knows who she is and’ll find out she was at the convenient store buying the pill from some RANDO LMAO

Why does Otis look like a literal 16yr old and Maeve out there looking like she’s ‘bout to turn 24
