I like Sakuraā¦ really, but every time Iām here on Tumblr looking for some good Uchiha clan content (analysis/headcannons) the only thing that pops up is sasusaku content regarding their nuclear family. I want more Uchiha ClanĀ content after all I am constantly living in a world where the Uchiha were never massacred and Shisui, Itachi, Fugaku, Mikoto, and everyone else is still alive & happyā¦ so I decided to work my brain to develop some real Uchiha content (don'tComeForMe sasusaku shippers iāmNotHating). Plus it helps to write fan fiction with Uchiha characters when you have your own personal guid on their clan and upbringing.Ā
Uchiha Headcannons, Traits and Genetics
- Itās no secret that the Uchiha possess very desirable traits as they have always been renown for their beauty.
- The Uchiha have a fairly decent range regarding their coloring. Hair colors typically range from ashy-brown to jet-black, a few examples within this range would beĀ Sasukeās raven hair and Fugakuās dark brown hair color. None ever posses a natural light/vibrant color like blond or red. All Uchiha share the gene for almond shaped eyes, but there a few differences among their eyes regarding size and color, eye colors are as follows : black, onyx, and dark brown. Uchiha skin tones range from a cream color to a light olive.
- In general the clan has always maintained a homogeneous look.Ā
- Some of the defining traits of Uchiha is their lean build, heart shaped faces, strong chin&jaw, dark hues, strait nose.Ā Another trademark feature of the Uchiha is their stress lines that form under their eyes, while not every member has them they are common among more maturing men.Ā
- Their stress lines and run deep and often give the impression of sunken in cheeks, some members of the Uchiha clan say this signifies great sorrows others claim it projects wisdom.
- Uchiha babies are born healthy, but a there has always been a small portion of the clan that has suffered from near sightedness and this usually shows up around ages 4-7.Ā
- The clan are very thoughtful and cautious regarding the conception of Uchiha children as most shinobi clan are.
- In the past the Uchiha often paired their people with those from an allied clan, the Hagoromo clan (No relation toĀ Hagoromo Åtsutsuki look it up) to create a more diverse gene pool.Ā
- While the clan has never had an history of birth defects itās common for Uchiha to experienceĀ optic nerve related heath issues later in life (beholders of the sharingan in particular) as well as chronic migraines in some cases.Ā
- Regardless of impending blindness (for those with MS) or optic pain Uchiha would never trust an outsider to touch their precious eyes, receiving medical treatment from the village for other ailments is acceptable but they would rather suffer in silence than receive treatment or ever reveal the defects of their sharingan.Ā
The Uchiha compoundĀ & facilitiesĀ
- The Uchiha compound is maintained with great care. It is designed traditionally but has a contemporary mix, all and all itās clean and modest. Their grounds are decorated with their symbol, the Uchiwa splashed upon their walls, buildings, gates, shrines, and any other structure they could have placed it.
- Being one of the villages noble clans they have quite a decent amount of space that they occupy. Their compound is almost like a little village itself. Not all members of the Uchiha clan are shinobi the ratio of civilian to shinobi is almost about half and half actually, so there are plenty of clansmen and women to run the shops, maintain the grounds, and make their compound a functioning residential area.Ā
- Once you step foot into their compound you will find a peaceful vibe where harmonious living takes place, something the clans elder have always heavily enforced. Fighting, running, any obnoxious behaviors, even drinking in public are forbidden within the compound walls. While people who live amongst the village might find this odd it is perfectly accepted by the Uchiha as they take great pride in their home and were brought up to follow the socially acceptable rules within their clans culture.Ā
-Ā One of the reason the Uchihaās move was so upsetting was because their homes were passed down throughout generations, they were beautiful traditionally made by the first Uchiha to settle in Konoha. After the Nine Tails attack the Uchiha spared all the could from their old establishments, the wood, the fusuma (sliding doors), the tatami mats, even some of the concert bricks that lined their pathways for reconstruction.Ā
- Home is a place to relax and find inner peace after a long day of being on guard. Itās a very friendly place where the social norm is to always greet your fellow clansmen as you come across them on the streets, even if you may not be close to them. Also it is a must to properly acknowledge your elders when passing by even when you are in a rush. The people within the Uchiha clan are always cordial to one and other, with few exceptions, mostly because there is a deep sense of oneness and unity so weather its your close relative or a distant friend as long as you bear the Uchiwa symbol you are a trusted comrade.Ā
- The main gate of the Uchiha compound, it is always kept open during the day time due to the fact they their clan is entrusted to keep the peace and should always be available for when citizens need to report a crime directly to their offices.Ā
- There is a strong nature element within the compound. While maintaining the clean appearance the Uchiha clan carefully landscapes their home with greenery, beautifully trained trees, traditional gardens, a few sand gardens, stones and larges rocks places around the shrubbery. Ā

- The compound is a very joyous place during festivals. Youāll see everyone out and about, women dress in their Kimonoās and children run from shop to shop collecting goodies from the shopās owners. The Uchiha have a very important job within the village, because when Konoha was first established a deal was made between the shinobi and civilians workers which promised the workers protection and stability for their contributions to building up the Hidden Leaf. The Uchiha are responsible for making sure that the promise if fulfilledĀ

- The Uchiha are a loving clan, but self discipline in one of their pillars. Ones behaviors and actions speak for the whole clan so as you can imagine there is a lot of pressure for Uchiha to project a respectable image, especially when you considers the villages distrust for each and every one of them.
- There is a culture of oneness among the Uchiha, and it promotes clan and country above self. When a situation arises an Uchiha clansmen is always expected to take personal responsibility for his/hers actions.
- Even when they were not the ones at fault they still must step up and take responsibility for not being capable enough to foresee and prevent the problem as well as take control of those who caused it.Ā
- While a vast majority of Uchiha clansmen are apart of the force itās not a requirement, but an honor.Ā
- as I mentioned before, not all members of the Uchiha clan are shinobi, this is partly due to the fact that if man/women does not have what it takes (in the eyes of their clan) they will not be guilted into duty because the Uchiha only produce the best of the best among leaf forces and do not want a weak link to tarnish their name.Ā
- Uchiha must stay neutral when it comes to political matters. They are expected to protect all of the people within Konoha therefor they must not come a crossed as bias in any political conundrum because it could put them in a distrusting light.
- The Uchiha police force is separate from the Hidden Leafās regular forces. While they still contribute to the village the Uchiha have different methods of training and different qualifications to become an active duty member, itās similar to how Anbu is classified.Ā
- The Uchiha police force is like a small army, they take their job very seriously and have one of the most stressful tasks a shinobi could have. The force must put aside their own ill feeling to support a government that hasnāt supported them, in addition they have to tread the waters making sure that they maintain authority but still project a kind image to the public.Ā
- The ranks of the Uchiha are truly determined by age, with the exception of the clan leaders heirs. The most experienced usually hold the highest titles.Ā
- The rankings are as follows : Ā PoliceĀ Force Captain (Fugaku), Ā Lieutenants (Yashiro Uchiha & Shisui Uchiha +more), Ā Assistant Squad Captains (Sasuke +more), and then there are regular officers whoās titles may have small variations.Ā
- One of the police forces most crucial duties is to provide their services to the feudal lord, in exchange for lowering taxes on the hidden leaf village as well as forming good ties with between the two parties.Ā
- This means deploying their best highest ranking men to the federal lords offices to establish a post that they will maintain and police as well as handle any missions the feudal lord may have for them.

- UchihaĀ will often train promising members at the feudal lords offices, training is extremely intense and observed by the most elite of Uchiha. Above lieutenant Shisui Uchiha is accompanied by clan heir Sasuke Uchiha. Completion of ones training here instantly promotes a ninja to the position of squad captain.
- There are two types of clan gatherings, the first one, shown above, is only for active duty shinobi within the clan but the second meeting that takes place is open to all of the clan who are willing and able to come and voice their opinions/ heard the latest news from the clan head.

- Unlike theĀ HyÅ«ga there isnāt much of a pecking order amongst the Uchiha, of course you have the clan head, and elders, as well as the higher ups among the force but for the most part Uchiha see each others as equals whoās all serve an important roll within their community.Ā
- The Uchiha have a freedom of speech during their clans meetings, throughout history their leaders has always had to maintain the ability to listen and take complaints while still projecting his authoritative demeanor.Ā
- A clan meeting can only be authorized by the clan head, either by a clan leaders own volition or by peoples request (civilian or shinobi). Ā
- Uchiha women are fundamental part of their clans infrastructure. The number of Uchiha males has always outweighed that of the females, not by a gross amount but enough so that parents and elders will encourage young girls to take on a more supportive role on the home front as to safeguard the ratio of males to females.Ā
- In the waring-states era all women were expected fight, if they could not hold their own in the battle field then their genes were not welcomed within the gene pool (or so was the old mentality) With the establishment of Konoha the expectation changed within the clan.
- But make no mistake all Uchiha clansmen (male&female) are expected to have basic knowledge of the ninja arts as well as itās history in conjunction with the basic skill set to survive and defend themselves. Regardless of occupation the Uchiha have always been a battle breed clan and none one who posses the uchiha name is left unexposed to the shinobi lifestyle.Ā
- While the majority of Uchiha females keep their civilian status becoming a kunoichi is surly not frowned upon, in-fact a successful kunoichi is viewed as more desirable within the clan and they are most likely to marry into the head family.Ā
- However modern clan law states that their kunoichi are not allowed to be sent off into war, but situations may vary in reality. Ā
- Women are a blessing in the uchiha culture. Daughters are viewed as a wonderful gift who will bring much joy and beauty to their family and one day attribute to the next generation of the clan.Ā
- It isĀ dishonorable to ever disrespect an Uchiha woman for Uchiha men as well as outsiders. Itās not like Uchiha women are viewed as superior but they hold a lot of value in their clans culture and to behave indecent to an Uchiha female is just seen a very distasteful amongst the clan.Ā
- Women must project a dignified image of the clan. From a young age they are made to understand their basic responsibility of portraying the clan in a positive light in a distrusting homeland.Ā
- Therefor youāll notice that most Uchiha women come off a polite, refined, graceful, and very modest. Mothers teach them how to project such traits through their behaviors and dress.Ā
- While genre roles do exist amongst the clan as they still do in traditional Japanese society this doesnāt mean women from this clan are subservient. Uchiha women run the household and are actually known for being quite outspoken with their opinions and can sometimes can be a little blunt with their views/judgments.
- Itās a well known fact that those who hail from the Uchiha clan love deeper than most so as you can imagine the bond of husband and wife is a sacred and personal thing. Despite the contrary belief Uchiha do not force marriages on their ownĀ
- Yes they do arrange marriages as do most noble clan but it is customary to have a decent gap between the initial arrangement and the union. All arranged marriages are made thoughtfully and with great consideration in a genuine attempt to lay the foundation for a loving union that will also produce strong offspring but every marriage within the clan is arranged of course.Ā
- Uchiha are never allowed to divorceĀ
- A common misconception people may usually have is that Uchiha are only allowed to marry within the clan, there are no rules agains marrying outsiders (although rare) however it is heavily frowned upon to marry out of the clan. For a male or female to get rid of their surname is often met with shunning from the majority of the clan.Ā
- Uchiha men usually prefer Uchiha women, as their upbringing had shaped their image what is attractive to them.Ā
- But there is an unspoken understanding that for most young men (ninja) it is quite acceptable toĀ ādate aroundā the village as they spent most of their adolescence keeping to a strict discipline the clan tends to turn a blind eye to some of their personal escapades.Ā
- As stated above Uchiha are most likely to settle down within their clan for serious relationships, but a different approach is required.Ā Itās not so much dating as it is courtship, itās more formal and respectable seen as more tasteful withe the clan. The courtship never has to end in marriage unless thats itās natural course and only then will the relationship be a public thing.
- The Uchiha value privacy in terms of their love life, itās really only acceptable to announce a relationship if it has a future, even then your love life is your personal business and Uchiha clansmen prefer it that way.Ā
- The clan isnāt very concerned about what their people might do out of wedlock, as long as they donāt become obnoxious with their behaviors a blind eye will be turned to most frisky behaviors. The only thing that might receive some backlash would be having children out of wedlock only them might the elders start getting a little pissy.Ā
- Marriage ceremonies are private, typically just the couple themselves as it is their union and meant to be a sacred union. Parents and siblings or even close cousins might attend for those who want it but overall itās an important promise between two people. Sometimes after the initial ceremony there is a wedding party that is meant to celebrate the bride and groom typically taken place at the head families home.Ā
Children are the most precious thing in the world to a pair of Uchiha parents.Ā
Usually they partake in the naming ceremony seven days after birth, they wrap their Ā new babies in black/navy montsuki (kimono for the girls).
- Elder sibling are expected to attend to their younger siblings and show them how to build independence.Ā
- The clan loves their children and usually most shop keeper will give out free goods (pies, dumplings, candies) to children who pass by their shops or are playing on the nearby streets, or elders with pass some money or a prize along to a child when theyāve been successful in their schooling.
- Uchiha children are polite and well behaved especially out in public. Rules and expectations are set at home which motivate kids to behave properly out in the public eye, however the Uchiha are strictly against using any kind of physical force to discipline their young. Even thought they are a battle clan they would never raise a hand to their children for any kind of lesson. Uchiha parents prefer disappointed/unamused glares and some serious lectures as methods of discipline.Ā
- While expected to be relatively independent and act responsibly kids are kids and the clan adores their youth and are amused by their silly, cheeky, childish ways as long as they are polite and grow up respectable.
- Fathers usually are stern with their boys, giving tough love too often, but itās all with the best intentions of preparing them to stand on their own two feet. Fathers feel the heavy responsibility of preparing their sons to handle the pressures that come with their Uchiha name.Ā
- Most children live a home until married, Uchiha mothers are very doting and involved in their babiesĀ lives as much as possible.Ā
- While UchihaĀ do not participate in any practices, other than following theĀ shinobiās code of honor as well as their clans own teachings,Ā they do recognize the shinto gods asĀ deitiesĀ Ā
- Ā As you may know a lot of their ninjutsu is named after popular shinto gods andĀ goddesses. The oldĀ reasoning is that the shinto gods recognized theĀ prestige of the Uchiha andĀ therefore blessed them with strong genes.Ā
- While UchihaĀ aren'tĀ necessarily religious they are very traditional, soĀ they maintain many shrines around theirĀ compound and keep the ancientĀ belief of shinto gods alive my telling their legends as bedtime stories to their children.
- UchihaĀ believeĀ thatĀ they control their own fateĀ and areĀ personally responsible for all the happenings in their lives. HoweverĀ they alsoĀ believe that because they are favored the shinto gods might bless them further good luck, so a lot of Uchiha will write down their hopes, withes, and prayers onĀ kozo paper and them burn it at the shrine.Ā
- Uchiha always cremate their dead. When a fellow Uchiha dies on the battle field his clansmen are expected to finish him off so his body will never fall into the wrong hands.
Instead of dog the Uchiha prefer cats as their ninja companions, they suit the Uchihaās style of battle and social behaviors.
- However the Uchiha clan is known for keepingĀ Shiba Inu as house dogs. The uchiha fancy these dogs not only for their easy care regiment but their intelligence and loyalty as well. The Uchiha describe the Shiba Inu asĀ
- kaani-i (fiery spirited),Ā ryosei (good natured), andĀ soboku (alert).Ā
- This is strong willed but good tempered dog that is kept in most Uchiha homes that are capable of caring for them.
