My theories why stay close to me/never let me go is the last song that will performed in the last episode:

1. Yuri might use this as his performance in the final grand prix

2. Vitor will put a special performance in the grand prix so hence the song

3.Yuuri and Victor will pair skate with this song

4. Victor will dance this for Yuuri which we saw in the first scene of the first episode.

It’s only been one episode and Victor is already amassing sports anime deathflags (aka: graduation/injury/retirement), what with the ED line about him mentioning time flying by and his sudden interest in training the MC after seeing the video, which seems like an attempt to ensure his legacy continues through the two Yuris

okay I think I’m seeing the angst in Yuri!!! on Ice.

why do I say this? well there’s a certain tweet in the ED where a picture of Yuuri and Victor is shown (they’re inside a train) and the caption is “time flies so fast”. Is Victor gonna leave Yuuri someday?? I mean yeah its bound to happen but we all know thats gonna be an emotional ep.

Please welcome @inbetween-lines, taking the ice as a Story Writer! Here’s why they keep coming back to YOI:

I only started to watch YOI end of last year, but then I rewatched it at least 10 times. Yuuri and his feelings of inferiority/resignation at the start resonate with me a lot as a former competitive dancer. Seeing him become more comfortable and confident, and gain someone who he can share his passion with is incredibly comforting.
