i have a bunch of 3D models up on cults3D, and i make a little bit of money off them semi-regularly. but like a month or so ago Cults randomly changed their payout system completely and I haven't been able to get a payout from them since.

Ive always heard people say that this like chiffony type fabric is annoying to work with but. Im stubborn. So i tried anyways.
Ill have to do some hand tailoring on the body and im going to readd the lace on the cuffs by hand but at least the shirt will be covered with a vest!

Im pretty happy with how these are turning out actually. Sewing machine is working great after oiling! And i also got some new needles. I am having a couple issues with the bobbin sometimes, it might be too tight but um adjusting it as i go.
Gotta sew the waistband down a bit lower

I finally put most of my keyboard back to normal, unflocked keys, since the flocking was getting so dusty and linty and paint was peeling off
Anyways now the keyboard feels downright bizarre. Im thrown off every time i touch my normal, unflocked keys. They feel so smooth and cold like little rocks.

So, fun fact, the sewing machine i have been using for a couple years now is my moms old machine. It is a sears kenmore that is older than i am but still functions pretty much fine, although i struggle to adjust the tension regularly because i am yet unskilled.
But my mom actually bought me this little blue machine when i was a teenager and first wanted to learn to sew.
Where has it been? Well, my dads girlfriend loaned it to her neighbor a decade ago (with my permission) and then we forgot about it. She said she didnt think she had it. After she passed away and I was cleaning the craft room I found it.
So, time to turn it on and see if it works! Tbqh it would be nice to have a sewing machine thats smaller than the. Other one. A big barrier to me using a sewing machine at all is the space it takes up. It seems like its also a bit more intuitive to use.
sewing machine review: machine does technically work, but needs maintenance, as I kind of expected since its been in storage for a decade
Hopefully it just requires some oil, im no expert in sewing machines but it was clearly having trouble with some grinding noises.
i actually... dont own any sewing machine oil, i havent oiled the other machine either but it looks like i really should be oiling it according to the internet. oops.

I have found a significant issue
This little bar, i think its called the take up lever, seems to be leaning sideways significantly, so much so that its rubbing the plastic. I am guessing this is not intended and is probably an issue from being damaged during being moved around while the lever was up
Iiiiii dunno exactly what to do here. I am tempted to just use pliers to bend it back into place best i can. But yeah if that doesnt work out ill probably just set this aside, i cant afford to have it professionally fixed or anything. Im guessing that replacing the lever would be too hard myself.
just kidding i took out my pliers and shoved it back and that worked fine
on one hand i keep thinking "all this hassle just to fix these machines, theyre so annoying to get out and thread..."
but then i remember how i hand sewed one part of the outfit im planning yesterday and my hand was cramping up awfully bad
