It's been a couple days & I finally feel ready to do this post now (just don't ask me to say it out loud) Saturday night we had to have Shanks put down after only having him in our life for 5 years. After moving to the new house he became lethargic & his breathing labored. A trip to the nearest vet & an X-ray later revealed that Shanks had an enlarged heart & from this condition had developed fluid in his chest. The amazing staff tried some treatments hoping to get him well enough to temporarily return home but to no avail. The stress of a car ride back home probably would have stressed him to death. So we made the decision to pet his sweet little head, give him those deep ear scratches he loved & tell him how much we love him while the vet put him to sleep. He was an amazing baby cat, I'm grateful we had him for any amount of time. With his gimpy leg & giant heart if we could go back in time we would still scour Craigslist for that add & buy him all over again. We will miss you Sweet Baby Shanks 🐈💕
