Hey guys! Posting part 13 today cause I'm really excited for this chapter haha. The It Lives gang has to fight off the creatures coming to attack, turning MCs backyard into a battle field. How will they fight them off? And what other surprises await them? Special thanks to @it-lives-in-westchester and @ouleye as always! :) you can all find part 12 here *oh, and on a side note, can someone tell me how to insert the keep reading tab into these posts? I can't find it on my phone 😩*
You stand facing a group of vine creatures headed straight for you and your friends. Though you are greatly outnumbered, you and your friends refuse to back down. Your voice echoes into the night. "On my count! One... Two..." You all brace yourselves and hold your weapons tight. "THREE!"
You all charge towards the creatures together, Noah taking the lead. He flies through one of the bear creatures, easily knocking it down and killing it. A vine dog lunges at Ava, but she quickly stabs it in the chest with one blade, and pierces its skull with the other. Slamming it to the ground full force, she stomps on its head, shattering the skull. You swing your tire iron onto a dogs back as it lunges for your ankle, repeatedly hitting it until it stops moving. You spin around at the sound of Dan yelling, just in time to catch a moss creature leaping at you in mid air! You swing your tire iron as hard as you can, and hit it directly in the neck, decapitating it. You kick the skull to the other side of the yard before it has time to reattach itself to the body.
You look back in Dans direction to see him impale a vine bear through its spine, paralyzing it long enough for Lucas to pierce the other end if the broom stick in one eye and out the other. With one hard yank, he rips the broom stick out of its eyes, shattering the skull. The bear falls to the ground, and Dan and Lucas high five.
You hear a loud shriek, and look in Lilys direction to see two vine dogs slowly cornering her against your shed while she holds the fire iron out in front of them, hands shaking.
"Lily, hang on! I'm coming!" You race towards her as fast as you can, when a moss dog comes out of nowhere headed straight for you! It lunges at you before you have time to react, and as you flinch, a larger moss dog tackles it for you! It bites down on the vine creatures skull until it stops moving, and the moss creature turns to you, eyes beaming with excitement.
"Maurice! You're okay!" He barks proudly, and happily trots up to you. "Good boy, now come on, we have too help Lily!"
As one dog prepares to pounce on Lily, you hit it full force with your tire iron sending it flying. Maurice pins the other to the ground and Lily stabs its skull with the fire iron. "Thanks guys!"
Realizing how close you are to your shed, you dive in and grab your trusty Pole Saw. You turn it on as a large bear creature charges at you. It stands high and prepares to swing its claw at you, but you quickly dodge it and jam your pole saw straight through its chest and out its back! It falls apart and lies still, so you run to Andy and Stacys aid, who are being circled by a group of vine dogs.
You whistle for the creatures' attention, and three of them turn their heads at you, immediately charging your way. While Andy violently beats one creature with the crowbar, Stacy smashes her fist into another ones ribcage with her knifes' knuckle grip, then stabs it right between its hollow eyes. You easily cut through the three vine dogs with your pole saw, but the vines get tangled in the blade in the process, causing it to turn off. You quickly try to rip the vines off before you turn around to see a bear charging full speed at you! You frantically yank at the vines faster but it's no use. But before the bear can reach you, you hear a car horn in the distance, and look to see headlights headed straight into your backyard! The bear stares into the headlights giving you time to run, and the car rams the bear full force into a tree, shattering its body to pieces! Two doors swing open and Connor and Jocelyn exit the vehicle. Connor grips tightly to a chainsaw and Jocelyn wields an axe. They both run up to you.
You smile at them gratefully. "Nice timing guys." Connor looks at you. "Well, when I tried calling you three times with no answer, I figured something was up, so Jocelyn and I left straight from the hardware store." Connor is interrupted by Jocelyn screaming "DUCK!" as she swings the axe above Connors head, connecting with a moss dog, slicing its head clean off its shoulders. Connor whips the chainsaw on and holds it out towards another moss dog headed straight for him. It lunges high into the air, but lands straight onto the blade of the chainsaw.
Noah comes to your side and points to two vine bears headed your way out of the woods as you finally manage to rip the vines off your pole saw and turn it back on. Connor jumps in front of Jocelyn as one of the bears advances towards her and holds his chainsaw out, and the bear runs head first into it! While the bear is stuck in the blades, you slice its back with your pole saw, cutting it clean in half as Noah takes care of the other one. As you look around too see most of the creatures have been defeated, you feel a strong wind begin to pick up, circling your backyard. You all stop fighting as the remaining monsters retreat to the woods, and the sky begins to flash with a bright blue light. Clouds surround the sky around your house as the light begins to flash brighter.
You all look up as the wind picks up tremendous speed, almost as strong as a hurricane. You hear Avas voice shout from across the yard, "Y/N, what's happening?!"
"I-I don't know!" Suddenly, you hear it. The same voice from last night.
"No... More... Warnings..."
You shudder at the sound and shout for everyone to lie on the ground as branches, rocks, and the remains of defeated creatures begin to fly around the yard.
You look up from the ground to see something standing in the distance- a large, unhumanly shaped figure. It stretches out what looks like an arm to the ground, and you see a strange light travel across the grass headed towards you. It slithers across the ground like a snake, and you try to get up, but feel a force hold you to the ground. The light reaches you and lifts you off the ground, wrapping around your body! Out of the corner of your eye, you see Noah come flying to your aid but is suddenly stopped by another force, and he begins to scream in pain. The light continues to wrap around you, growing tighter, as it slowly makes its way around your neck, and you struggle to breath. You hear the voice right next to your ear whisper to you "Now, you shall suffer... The way he did..."
The screams and shouts of your friends begins to trail off as your vision blurs, and just before it fully fades, you spot something small fly past you and head straight to the ominous figure. It lands a direct hit on the silhouette and you hear an ear-piercing screech echo throughout the backyard, shaking the ground. The wind spins around rapidly as the light in the sky flashes brighter than before, and suddenly disappears. You fall to the ground and land hard on your back. You lie there as you try to catch your breath, everything suddenly calm and quiet.
You feel a hand touch your shoulder that makes you jump, and look to see Tom helping you sit up. "Tom?! What are you... How?" He looks at you nervously and rubs your back soothingly. "I told you we'd be back." He nods his head in the direction where the silhouette once stood, and you see Harper retrieving something off the ground.
"Harper?" She runs up to you, her brow furrowed in concern. "Are you okay?"
You look around to see all of your friends rushing up to you. Andy is out of breath as he makes his way to you, searching your arms and neck for bruises. "Y/N, are you hurt?" You ignore Andy as your eyes scan the yard, searching. Stacy wraps you into a tight hug and you can see tears in her eyes. "Y/N, are you okay? That was so terrible! That thing almost-" You gently push her away, still searching the backyard. "I'm fine, but where's-"
You look around your backyard frantically, until you finally see it- Your eyes fall onto a dark figure laying on the ground, lifeless.
