can we talk about this for a minute? the symbolism is so beautiful. the grave pin is reminiscent of the LWYMMD video but the colors are so different; here, it’s pink pastel which matches the ts7 era aesthetic and provides a stark contrast to the dark colors of reputation. also, it says “i tried”, possibly to hint that taylor tried to kill her old self but failed. lastly, the daisy growing out of the bottom is important for two reasons: first, it’s growing out of the grave to signify new life amidst death. second, it’s a daisy, which recalls the lyric “i once was poison ivy but now i’m your daisy.” taylor herself is a daisy, and she’s growing from her tombstone. she mentioned that she chose palm trees because they’re a symbol of new beginnings and rebirth, and this is taylor’s way of showing she’s been reborn; she’s starting fresh.
