Studio Update

So we just finished up some amazing days in the studio with our good friend Ryan Furlott at Rain City Audio. The sounds we got were amazing, its awesome seeing him get into the music and give us ideas and direction when recording. The process was so much fun. He really knows what he is doing and we suggest him to everyone needing to record anything. He is the man with the skills. Back to the record, we are very stoked to show you all what we have. We think these are easily the best songs we have written. We experimented with things that we have never done before, and really broadened our influences as well as embraced what we liked about our previous record. We really tried to tie everything we want to do musically into this. We are really proud of the record. We have some other news here soon we can release, but until then we will just say that we are done tracking! Can't wait to announce what we have to announce as well as show you what we have been working so hard on.

Studio Journal

So, today we embark on a journey to a place known as Rain City Audio. We are finally going in the studio to hammer out these 7 songs we have been working on. These honestly are our best work. There aren't filler tracks, there aren't songs trying to fit any mold or specific genre. It is a very broad sound. But it is cohesive. We are very proud of these songs. We aren't trying to sound egotistical or full of ourselves. We just are very excited to show everyone these songs. As we go into the studio we will post alot of pictures and blog posts and maybe some videos. To keep you all up to date. Thank you all for the continued support and we hope you enjoy our new work.

Writing Music

So yesterday we finalized 5 out of the 6(or 7) songs we are going to be putting on our new EP that will be recorded. We are very proud of all the songs that we have so far. We get asked from time to time what kind of stuff influenced us as far as our new music goes. We all dig alot of different music. From Post Rock to Metal to Hardcore to Indie Rock, we listen to it all. We aren't going to go around saying "oh yeah, a bunch of obscure/old jazz musicians help us write this breakdown" but we are influenced by alot. A bit more directly though, alot of the stuff we were listening to alot and help inspire was stuff such as Oceana, Misery Signals, Counterparts, Crossbearer and Moving Mountains It was more than just those bands, but those are the ones I felt when writing. Granted you won't hear stuff that sounds exactly, but thats kind of where we were at when writing this record. We feel our new record really encompasses  alot of what we want to do musically. It is fast, it is heavy, it is melodic. You probably could have guessed that by listening to our older record or just talking to us, but it is different than our older. We tried some new things, broadened our influences and really embraced what we liked in previous work. We are very excited to show you what we are talking about. We will be posting another video update showing our progress as well as when we go into the studio we will have updates. Thanks for sticking by us this long. We really appreciate the support.

Jumpin on Tumblr/Update

I felt this would be a good way to keep up with posting blogs, pictures, updates and other things such as that. 

So anyway, as far as an update goes. We were super stoked to be on the road the last couple of weekends. First playing with our amazing friends in Becoming Everest. We were so stoked to hang out with Pablo and then meet the rest of his band. They were way rad dudes, playing awesome music. We can't wait to play more and hopefully hit the road with them. Make sure and check them out. 

Then this last weekend, we got to do something very special for us. A good friend, Jesus Martinez had his 21st birthday show. If you know this kid, you know he is passionate about music, and about the scene in the northwest. We were so stoked he asked to play and that we could do that for him. To see the support that he had from the bands, the kids, everyone really shows that his hardwork does not go unnoticed. At least from us, we met him 4 years ago, he booked us and our friends in This Word Is Weapon at the Hub City Club in Centralia,WA and luckily we stayed in contact with him and we have become better friends recently and glad that he still supports us and all music.

Anyway we are very excited to be working on some new music. We are going into the studio in august to record 6 songs, but we are writing alot more. We have alot of interesting ideas we have been toying with. We aren't saying it's a 100% change of what we have been doing, but it's something that has progressed from our EP and it really shows a good, positive change.
