A Shot in the Dark - Clint
âAbsolutely. How else does one get by these days?â he pondered, shrugging helplessly as he pulled the device out. Honestly, heâd been too distracted by Clint asking him to do something to worry about practical things like being able to get in touch with him. Though, on the subject of being too distracted to think about practicalitiesâŠ
âButâŠI donât suppose youâd talk much. Would texting be more your thing?â
âYeah, texting is better for me. Even in a quiet room, I have issues understanding people on the phone,â Clint replied, flushing lightly. He hated sometimes just how much of a handicap his hearing issues were, and how much sometimes people took for granted he could hear anything at all.
Ah, but - âDo you have a texting plan? Some people donât and I donât want you to worry about extra charges.â With money so tight some days, he couldnât imagine asking anyone else to spend more just to be able to talk to him.
âYes. No problems there,â Bruce said absently as he set up a new contact space. âI guess you could say Iâm something of a trust fund baby. Thatâs not likely to run dry anytime soon.â His mom had locked down her own funds tight so his father couldnât touch them after her death. At eighteen, her estate had gone to him. âGranted, itâs not going to last forever or anything, but there wonât be any problems for the foreseeable future. A text plan wasnât an issue at all. So whatâs your number?â
