HOW TO MAKE A PINNIE (aka a wearable throwie). Come to Our Heroes, Our Time at the Brooklyn Museum on Saturday May 21st. From 1-2pm, we will be making PINNIES so everyone, performers and audience, can have some wearable tech!
If you’re loving our lobby transformed as a living soundsystem by Tom Sachs: Boombox Retrospective, get ready because this summer our favorite Brooklyn DJs are taking over the sculptures for live sets.
As the pavement heats up on Eastern Parkway, cool off with trailblazing producers and DJs for Happy Hour from 6-8 p.m. on select Thursdays. Here’s who is coming to spin in Tom’s Presidential Vampire Booth:
Nemo Librizzi Thursday, June 16 Nemo Librizzi of KNOW-WAVE Radio and special guests pay homage to the streets of Brooklyn in the ‘80s and '90s. Stick around afterwards at 8 p.m. to hear Tom Sachs chat sound systems with Questlove. Tickets here.
TYGAPAW Thursday, June 23 TYGAPAW mixes dancehall and pop on Tom Sachs’s boom boxes. Followed by the kickoff of our second annual Heritage Film Series hosted by caribBEING.

Check out the Halo, a wearable device that contains 180 independently programmed LEDs that change color based on your mood, movement - even the weather around you. Its creator says she thinks the Halo could eventually be used by waiters to appear more visible in dimly lit restaurants or long-haul travellers looking to adjust their body clocks.
