Why do people like danny phantom and why is it especially after so long still so popular let's see
Well, there are a few reasons 1. The concept, yes, the concept, especially in the intro and first episode, a guy is dead a teen in fact died wrong under his own house with questionable parents and this guy is an unwilling hero fighting the undead and protecting them while being undead himself,...... what's not interesting? What's not intriguing about that?
2. Outcast: Yes, Danny is an outcast from the getgo everywhere. Even before the accident, he is other in some form everywhere he's bullied. He's the blacksheep of the fam and even his own friends, especially sam other him, and use him to a degree for their own gain
3. Potential the show showed a lot of potential and content with a lot of dark themes, especially for a kids' show people like hidden themes and reading between the line's it inspires creativity and dp ESPECIALLY dp has alot of things that show up even in oneliners and are never mentioned again leaving us with wip lash like wtf lots of themes it mentions and shows but never expands on because of bad writing and because it's "too dark" because well Nickelodeon and a certain Christian homophobic racist misogynistic fake jackass who had power in the end product
4. It was different, inspired creativity, and it was unique, and lots dark undertones and it's confirmed had the writing team been able to yk have a say ALOT of what the fandom wants and what the show itself hited at and promised would have happened and the show as a whole would have been better darker and more interesting and the show would have cept running but the fact that it didn't happen is probably why it is so popular because people can have there own versions of what Canon should have looked like what it could have been witch in turn inspires new writers and artists and keeps this fandom going
5. Tragedy the what could have been inspires creativity it's why people love shigaraki and mha the what if, what if butch was kicked out what if the show kept going what if the writers spoke up and pushed harder what if dp had the chance
6. Lgbtq+ Yes, the homos especially the trans fellas, it may have been unintentional but the show has alot ALOT of trans and lqbt undertones. danny is dubbed by many as THE trans allegory, even to outsiders
7. Relatable danny is a very relatable character, especially to teens, and closeted lgbt fellas feeling out of place, unable to fit in and paranoid of the people around them no matter where or who they are with, danny is an outcast a delinquent different messy who at first just wants what everyone has to be liked to be "normal" the feeling that you are a freak and wrong misplaced and to the minority and teenagers that's hella relatable
8. Growing danny is a character that doesn't feel overpowered when he rightfully is and should be why because he is growing because he lerns he fails and loses ALOT in the show he almost especially in the beginning never actually wins an important fight he adapts he acknowledges his wrongs he lerns develops and trys and apologizes makes an effort and understands danny is the character development standard for every fictional character sure there are times when it flops where he isn't the one that should be apologizing because he was hurt and wronged [bad writing] but that just makes him even more empathetic person then he already is to the viewers
