"Kako, Happy Birthday! I wanted to get you something nice and thought maybe you'd like this? Heh heh... " With a bashful smile, Shuichi holds out a gift bag. First was a small bag of homemade dorayaki... And then for the main gift: a detective outfit that looks like the classic Sherlock Holmes with the cloak and hat and everything, except colored pink!

"I-I thought, maybe! You'd like to have your own little detective outfit, but in your colors?" He chuckles, letting her have a moment to give it a full look over. "It doesn't have to be right away or anything, but... ! If you ever want to try it on, I hope you'll love it." (SORRY I'M A DAY LATE, BUT HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAKOOO!!! 🩷 🩷 🩷)

Honestly, maybe it was because of the war going on... or maybe it was because she hadn't really been feeling herself lately. Being that everyone else was so focused with the task at hand, Kako was entirely okay with forgetting a day like today. If it meant that she can just spend time with her friends... then that's all that mattered to her in the end!

Except, when she had been fiddling with her hair while on standby, she heard a familiar voice that she looked up to so much-! It's her detective senpai, the one who had put a lot of his beliefs into her and supported her along with her beloved twin brother. Her face lighting up instantly with an excitable smile and bright eyes, Kako responded in kind with an earnest warmth of surprise!

"Shuichi-senpai-! Y-you didn't have to do that, but... it looks like you found out first before anyone else. Your attention to detail is so cool...!"

Face flushed pink in being so bashful with how talented he is, Kako curiously reaches for the bag and peers inside. Whatever it is that the detective had brought her, it HAD to be something he knew that she would enjoy... and her expectation was met with a bright and cheery smile on her face!

"Oh my goodness... Y-you really want me to have this-?!"

He saw her worthy of such a thing-?! Seeing a wonderful bag of homemade dorayaki (it smelled heavenly, she knew that he had put his heart into this the moment she peered into it) and the outfit he had picked for her (in pink-!) had made her heart stutter in both joy and bewilderment!

Her childish mind immediately went to 'I bet everyone would love seeing me in this, even Ima-!' as she pulled out the contents and carefully tried on the hat and coat without any further hesitation.

"I-I love it, Shuichi-senpai~! In fact, it makes me want to go on a mystery hunt now more than ever! Y-You're free today, right? Do you want to go on an expedition with me and we can do a little scavenger hunting? I'm sure everyone else is in need of some items out there... and this would mean that I can put myself to the test with your help!"

So giddy, she immediately reaches for his hand and gives it a gentle yet firm tug-!

"I-If you're free, that is! I promise, we can stick close the safer areas this time... but you giving this to me... I want to do my very best so I don't let you down... or the others, especially onii-chan~! Pretty please, Shuichi-senpai!"

May it be her desire to seek out the secrets of this world from her, or the sparkle in her eyes in wanting to become useful (a trait she very much shared with the detective himself), Kako could only feel wholefully accepted and humbled by a present such as this!

I feel like Kako would be very into the typical songs you might find on like DDR or maybe something a little more pop-ish. The closest vibe I can find that she may like to listen to is Mugen no Ticket (it's upbeat, catchy, and most importantly it also gives an excuse to incorporate her and her brother Ima into the mix bc due to it being a duet!)

Kako gives me happy vibes, and this is as close to a 'happy vibe' I have on hand that makes me go 'oh she would absolutely love listening to this'!! Plus, vocaloid mention <:

I truly think that Hiruko specifically would like a little more energy in her music. At first, I would've leaned a little more towards her maybe listening to something a little slower- but then I remembered Nero's Theme (Devil Trigger) has that energy that would keep her intrigue and excitement at the absolute MAX! So, I would think she would enjoy something like this.THRIVING off of the offensive-battle type of vibe that would keep her blood pumping! B>

{ Detective Team!! } - I've Been Searching For You - Centaurworld

I had to dig long and hard BUT I think i'm satisfied with this one here because for, a couple reasons!!! I think Shuichi and Kako's dynamic (and including Ima along for the ride) in being close enough to be considered a close big brother and senpai to her, I feel like she would definitely get attached to him like she does with Ima (when she isn't trying to be very independent)

That if anything were to happen to either of them (either Kako and Ima, or Shuichi) I feel like it would hit really hard for them and using their skills (Kako using the ones she's honed thanks to him!!! and vice versa!) I feel like if they ever separated that they'd be able to find each other. Kako definitely is very emotional about her twin brother, even to the point of trying to get stronger in order to keep him out of danger, but realizing that she can't do anything without the other makes me think how emotional she would get if she got split off / stuck somewhere away from the LDA, or vice versa.

She's his smol young sister so!!! :pleading_face: Being scared of losing anyone esp who she sees as her sibling would make her so relieved and teared up when reunited again!!!!

Pulling at the heart strings on this one bc no matter how many times she feels useless, having an instant of being useful TO Ima as well as TO Shuichi and everyone in the academy, she'd feel so ecstatic and overjoyed!!!

It's a little silly but man... I care them so much so :sob:

Listen, I was going to do a deep-dive into Star Set but I thought i'd take a different approach to this instead because the way that these two are so indirect with how they feel about each other YET still are in orbit of each other's spaces is PHENOMENAL and is one of the reasons why I feel like dandelion eyes fits.

The song's music vid also shows an astronaut stuck in a cold isolated room while yearning and spacing out in what they want the most. The way I see it, I feel like at least for Kokichi he definitely feels Stuck in a way where he purposefully spins Shuichi in a circle and watches him go all amused and what not- but in actuality is spacing out / yearning to reach forward and pull Shuichi's attention on him.

He can flat out tell him that he wants his eyes on him, but boy will he keep his true intentions under a layer of curiosity until Shuichi finds the answer Kokichi has been keeping from him.

It's sweet and also *BONKS THEM BOTH ON THE HEAD* YALL!!! LMAO but that's what makes it fun anyhow for them !

For the enrichment meme: Shuichi gives Kako an interactive mystery book! From the description alone, it looks like it will be full of classic type of murder mysteries. "Want to have a go at it, Kako? With this, you're challenged to try solving the mysteries, yourself. It's very fun, and difficult enough to really make you think hard about the clues and pictures presented to you. A great detective like you will be able to solve all the mysteries in them, I'm sure!"

Throw Enrichment Right into the Muse Cage TM

How wonderful! It's perfect, the sparkle in her eyes matches the sweet smile as she excitedly brings the book closer to her and inspects its cover. It's mysterious, that's for sure, and if her senpai says that it's difficult AND fun, then it had to mean that he meant for her to get better at solving things, just like he does!!

Most people would bitch and groan at this level of 'homework', but NOT Kako! She's so thankful, she immediately turns and beams at Shuichi with sincerity. This book is NOT going anywhere other than in her lap while she'll work hard to piece together each mystery- like a TRUE detective!

"I bet you finished a book like this before, Shuichi-senpai. I-If you think so highly of me, then... there's nothing I'd like to do more than to follow along! Maybe if you're free, we can eat some of my specially made snacks while reading it! Oh- I don't expect for you to give me the answers... I want to be able to do this, and maybe..."

Maybe this will help her feel less of a weak link... and maybe, her wonderful brother will accept this too, in some way.

Hopefully the twins won't bicker about it, but even if they do, they have everyone (Shuichi included!) to help along the way in order to keep them on track!

With a snap of her fingertips, blue crystals begin to pool in front of both of them. Then, suddenly the shape of these crystals transforms into a... dance rush system-?!

"Come, come! I promise, this will not only be fun for you, but for your fellow friends as well!"

Pure and vibrant fun! That's what Marie's end goal was, especially when it came to someone like Kako who seemed to want to try to do better for both herself and her dear brother, too!
