it almost feels like its an album that’s not specifically about anything or anyone. She’s just running with ideas and making stuff up and creating stories. The essence of folklore.
character arcs?? love triangles??? taylor went and wrote a whole ya novel
This. Album. Is. Taylor. Swift.
Raw.
Unedited.
Creative.
Lyrical.
Magical.
folklore is the biggest seratonin rush I’ve experienced during this entire year so far
This is a turning point in her career and that’s silly to say for someone on their 8th album but I can FEEL it. The sophistication in the songwriting. The storytelling. The soft poeticism. The way the lyrics drift so perfectly over the melodies. No one who listens to this can exit this album without saying she is the songwriter of this generation and knowing how important her writing ability is to her, that is so important.
*listens to a song off folklore* oh shit this is my favourite track *listens to the next song* oh shit this is my favourite track *listens to the next song* oh shit this is my favourite track *listens to the next song* oh shit this is my favourite track* listens to the next song* oh shit this is my favourite track *listens to the next song* oh shit this is my-
Folklore reminds us of exactly why we all fell in love with Taylor Swift to begin with. It’s her songwriting, her voice, the captivating and magical ways she tells stories.
This is the kind of album that cements an artist in history. That defines their career. The kind of songwriting that will be lauded decades from now. Our kids are gonna hear this record and not believe we got to hear it the night it came out and I’m simply!!! Emotional about it.
THIS IS THE INDIE RECORD OF 2020 I DONT CARE IF SHES A POPSTAR
also her voice has never sounded like this before..... it’s velvet........
this genre and production fits her so so well it sounds more natural than anything she’s ever done, she slides into this so easily and completely.... taylor swift the woman... oh my god i’m fully like. shivering.
“AND YOU WANNA SCREAM!! DON’T CALL ME KID!!!!! DON’T CALL ME BABY!!!!!!! LOOK AT THIS GODFORSAKEN MESS THAT YOU MADE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Slipped away like a bottle of wine! As I just finished pouring the last of this bottle into my glass!!
i honestly think most of the songs on this album taylor didn’t write about her own life. i think it’s called folklore for a reason
