Honestly, Piers didn’t expect anyone to bother speaking to him– he only either attracted attention from fans or scared everyone off with just how he looked. It was the resting bitch face, a problem, he knows, but the singer preferred when people avoided him, anyway.
His attention is pulled from the side where he had actually been watching a pair of Zigzagoon’s play tag, a pack of cigarettes in his hand slowly being put away now that someone seemed to be trying to speak to him- which was unfortunate, really. For Piers. Pulled into a conversation as he was going to leave, typical. “Mm.” The punk hums and whether it was agreement or not was hard to say, but he humors the conversation, “Guess I understand. Somethin’ like that at least.” He avoids eye contact with the person, instead turning his gaze to said pokemon and just how… Spherical they were. Huh. Funny, almost. “Never thought t’think of it like watchin’ kids.” As much as he loved his pokemon, it wasn’t like when he was literally watching his baby sister at a playground, after all.
“Haven’ seen many a them ‘round here.”
-- There seemed to be a couple of black/white Zigzagoons in the same field, playing among themselves too. Despite Slade’s fixation on his own Pokemon’s joy in the scene, he couldn’t help but notice those small guys as well. Anyone would, really; especially when they stick out so boldly thanks to their color scheme. That said, his Spheals were his main concern still.
The other guy seemed agreeable enough. Quite the nice lad there, he was! Though the redhead hadn’t looked in the other’s direction, he didn’t need to once the theme started playing. One oddly... Beaty, wasn’t the usual thing he could hear. A light cough was uttered as the redhead was honestly taken by surprise; attention diverted from the small Pokemon in the fields to look to his right, finally laying eyes on the oddly-styled man.
...Where’d he see this guy before?
“I mean.” Despite the disturbance, Slade feigned proper mental fortitude and continued with the same line. “They’re just so... Innocent.” It wasn’t entirely true; but looking at them like that -- both the Spheal pair and the Zigzagoons, made him think how pure the sight was. As if there wasn’t a worry in their heads. “Kinda simple. Like when you take a kid to the playground. They’re just happy being around!” Slade offered, smiling at his company with a raised finger to, well, raise the idea.
“-- Ah, not like I got kids or anything like that. It just kinda feels like that.” Oops.
