heads up, I am FINALLY remaking this blog. 

this is the same blog i’ve had since 2014. there is so much information on here, and so much of my past content that i don’t agree with or even feel comfortable with anymore. 

Plus this blog has 584 drafts (literally) and no tagging system whatsoever. So. 

I’m keeping everything the same! Same Lysandre, same headcanons, same relationships. I just need a clean slate so I can feel like I’m properly representing what I need to represent. 

The url is going to be this same one, but I’m still working on the blog. If you want to follow now, it’s @renaissanceduroi2 LOL but it will be changed to this later and I will put out a promo.

Lysandre Labs overview!

Location: 

Tall office building in Lumiose City

Offices underground beneath Lysandre Cafe (what is referred to in game as Lysandre Labs)

Sprawling campus outside the city

More on café basement lab: Bulbapedia article here. I’m keeping it pretty much like this. When you go into these “Labs” you realize that Flare and Lysandre Labs (LL) are inextricable. LL does other projects and is a public-facing company, but much of its work is by Flare for Flare. Official visitors will be accompanied by someone with an elevator key to avoid the spinny platforms, but the spinny platforms are hilarious to me so they’re staying. This building descends many levels underground; there are offices going down many levels. 

Prominent developments: HoloCaster, FleurX. (Further posts on these soon.)

Worth: uhhh a lot? many billions. i dont know about business. definitely one of the top global stocks... that’s how it works right

Societal impact: The HoloCaster is essentially the iPhone of Kalos. Accelerated Lysandre from just a public figure adjacent to his family to a higher status tech figure, which then allowed him to branch out into philanthropy and other public figure status ventures. This also means that the entirety of all everyday information transmitted between everyone with a HoloCaster is subject to being monitored by Lysandre’s hand-picked information and security team (aka Flare members).

Is it sus? It’s as sus as any other huge, un-checked company with dubious privacy policies. But it’s sus to the point of memes, not sus to the point of investigation.

Perched delicately in the center of the bouquet is a luxury ball, with a small, level 5 ralts inside. Next to it is a small box about the size of a ring box, but holding a gardevoirite. Something to cherish, indeed.

"Hmm, prompt as always,” Lysandre greets, warmth in his voice. However, instead of inviting him to sit across the table from him as he has many times before, Lysandre rises from the chair. 

“This time, I thought we ought to change settings. I’ve set something up that I think you will appreciate.” 

The cabinet against the back room of the café is already propped open some, so Lysandre nudges it out of the way, revealing the secret entrance to the Lysandre Labs Headquarters. He steps in, expecting 02 to follow, elevator key in hand. 

“I’m taking you to the lower levels. Not everyone gets the privilege to access this area of the building, so congratulations on being a chosen one.”

Team Flare HQ overview!

Location: 

Main HQ beneath Geosenge -- this is where the Weapon is located, most R&D is done. Team Flare HQ is essentially a massive underground bunker. Elements of this: housing; cafeterias/food storage/food gardens; medical services; etc. Supplies enter and exit this via underground tunnels. 

Other Flare offices exist in secret lower levels in the Lysandre Labs Lumiose office building. 

Other various smaller stations across Kalos. 

Occupying: pokeball factory, power plant

Legendaries status: Both Yveltal and Xerneas in possession. 

Societal impact: Siphoning electricity from the whole of Kalos is kind of a problem. Redirecting other resources (pokemon, pokeballs, medical supplies, building materials, money, etc) that should be going to the Kalosian population is kind of a problem. Guys in orange suits walking around and terrorizing children and hijacking pokeballs etc etc is kind of a problem. 

Is it sus? For the base itself: not really. Geosenge as a town is mostly barren anyway, and anyone traveling through is more likely to equate creepy vibes with the graves and giant stones. The entrance is off to the side of the town. Of course people in fluorescent orange suits walking around in higher frequencies is going to be noticeable but that is very gradual. There are no noticeable supplies being transported above ground. However, electricity that would be going to, yknow, the entire region, is being siphoned and directed here, so if anyone was able to track that it would be a major problem.

Appearance without images because it’s canon-divergent: Instead of the halls being bright silver, the walls and floors are dark and orange lights line the floor and ceiling like a movie theater/those tiktok led lights. There also is some greenery, like random trees in awkward courtyards with fake sunlight.
