What’s Kabu’s oral hygiene like? Favorite flavor of toothpaste? Any weird teeth or dental work?
Kabu regularly goes into the dentist to whiten his teeth as much as possible. A lot of it comes from just how he was raised to take care of his body and that extends to his teeth. I think diet wise Kabu eats a lot of things that could potentially stain his teeth (e.g. spicier foods he enjoys). As for toothpaste, he does enjoy a good peppermint taste. Or peppermint anything for that matter. He really fell in love with it when he came to Galar.
As for as dental work goes, he does have one or two fillings in his molars due to teeth grinding.

The sniffing wasn’t necessary, not for Mew. Their senses were far more keen than that… doesn’t stop them from doing so though… just to play. Got to say though, this man is quite bold. Chariard aren’t typically very friendly, nor are they often found in the wild… they’re usually very territorial and aggressive…
But this man gives the aura of a more kind-hearted human… not just a calm ‘front’ some humans give off when confronted with a large Pokemon such as themself. He seems to delight in this, if that smile is any indication.
Wonder how he would react if they transformed?
Maybe in a bit, they’ll do that. But for now– Mew leans towards the hand offered to them, sniffing it. Their tail sways a bit, not a characteristic common in Charizard, and their wings drooped. The Pokemon takes a step back, turning slightly. They lower their body a bit, stretching out a wing.
Mew is inviting Kabu to climb onto them! Go for a flight! (Going to give him a fun little spook)
Kabu could feel the warm breath of the giant lizard on his gloved hand, careful not to get too close to touch it. Of course, there were still pressing questions in his mind; where the pokemon came from, why it was so friendly, and whether or not it was a wild pokemon or not. Still, if the creature was going to stay around, he would do his best to make it feel welcome.
Its mannerisms were certainly peculiar, but the Gym Leader did not have a lot of knowledge of the Kantonian Lizard to tell. He was, however, surprised to see the pokemon lowering itself. As if it was beckoning Kabu.
❝ You would... like me to climb your back? ❞ It sounded dangerous, but the opportunity was too rare to say no! Kabu gives a curt bow as a thank you towards the Charizard. ❝ I will do my best to hold on, haha. ❞ He takes a step, hands carefully climbing onto the other’s back.

Bea had quite the varied regiment when it came to her own physical training. She would go quite a few places and do quite a few things. She liked the variety, so she wasn’t always doing the same thing. A run to freshen her mind wasn’t quite common for her, but she was happy to try it out anyway. It was even more interesting once she heard the sound of a fellow gym leader close behind.
“Yeah, that’s right,” the teen replied. “I’m usually up early, but I don’t always go on runs like this- But I though today I could change the usual pace, and it seems to be working well. Would you find if I joined you?”
❝ A nice change of pace indeed. ❞ He repeated, lightly gripping onto his towel as an attempt to adjust it equally. Kabu still had difficulty connecting with the younger gym leaders, awkwardly giving them advice at the most. So this was an ample opportunity to converse a little more casually.
❝ I would love to have a running partner today. I do not know of your usual regimen, but I would recommend having these brisk runs in the morning. ❞ He walks a few steps forward through the hard pavement. ❝ It is rather calming in the morning -- less eyes on you. ❞

someone unknown sends ridiculous amounts of cake to Kabu.
When he arrived at his abode, he was met with the sight of stacks of boxes, taller than he was upon further inspection. Confused, Kabu carefully opens one box, using the sharp grooves of his keys. Cake...? He opens another box. Then another, and another. After the 5th opened box, he concluded that the rest of the decorated boxes were just the same.
As he made his way further into his home, he tried looking for a note of some kind. Some sort of clue to find who was responsible with this.
❝ Whoever sent this must like cake. I, unfortunately, do not like sweets very much. ❞ Kabu rubs the back of his head, flabbergasted. Though he was flattered that someone thought of him when buying all these cakes, he has no idea what to do with them.
Hm... I do wonder if I could give these out to the other gym leaders....
kabu just wants friends man
Kabu has this off-putting feeling in the back of his mind constantly, that ever since opal retired, he is the only gym leader in the major league that was part of the older poke league organization, and thus feeling disconnected from his peers because of it. The older league being more independent from sponsors and capitalistic affairs. And no matter how much he wants to fit in with the younger folk, he continues to have this old mentality.
