Been talking about this with friends so I present to you, the cursed spectrum of media literacy
I was just thinking about this People like to dunk on 'It's not that deep' as a way to just halt thought. But sometimes good media analysis really does requite require you to take a step back and realize that sometimes your 'deep' observation is just chasing a windmill and may not actually make sense when you look at the larger picture You need enough analytical skill to know to look deeper, but you also need enough humility to realize your analysis can be misguided or incorrect.
My mind goes to that whole era of Steven Universe discourse where people fully believed that the Diamond Authority was like specifically fascist, and thus that this literal children's show with themes of nonviolent conflict resolution was about accepting fascism.

Hey what's with this ambassador the US sent us? It kinda seems like he's just there to stand around and insult people
If there's one good change in the world it's that we have progressed to a point in culture where we can dunk on a Disney Star Wars movie without that being read as some kind of bizarre political statement
is it good if this is the best praise you could have used for your movie commercial
I hope this guy’s final wishes get honoured
the floating head of wisdom
Please don't fall victim to internet misinformation. There is no floating head. It's a regular horse, it's neck is just hidden due to the position of the camera. I made an image to help you understand the what's actually going on.
Thank you for the clarification
ok this looks ultra mega based, are you kidding me? can you imagine the bullshit i could get up to with this bad boy? fuck yes i want ten
Wait are iPhone bros coping because Apple has to be more universal? Lol.
Boo hoo i'll be able to add more physical storage to my phone and be able to change out batteries if they degrade as well as all these other optional features I won't have to touch
Continuing in the trend of political cartoons depicting milquetoast moderate positions seem so much cooler and more badass than they are
I love how they add totally absurd things no one is asking for to make the idea look crazy. And still, I must emphasize, failing to make this look like a bad idea.
"Is this what you want? Is this ugly stupid bullcrap what you want??" the biggest loudest idiot in the room asks, holding up a picture of the hottest looking shit I've ever seen
I can't remember if it's a Reddit post or a 4chan thing where someone's DMing a D&D game, and they tell the players they have to beat this major villain, but then the players go off and make the nation change it's views on gay marriage, and they go through the whole thing and then the villain just comes and wipes everyone out, and the DM basically goes "I told you that you had to beat this guy".
Because that suddenly popped into my head.
It's funny, but it's pretty mean asdf I feel like the correct play would be to have the undead army show up and now the players have to stop it to prove their new state can actually like... Function
"biblical angels" you do realise there are angels in the old testament that are literally just regular looking guys, right? you do know that the hallucinogenic incoherent descriptions are in like. two books. and the rest of the time angels are just guys. you know that, right?
and I'm not saying don't have fun with weird angels. I'm saying, either the eldritch forms are for special occasions, or the society of the angels is Many-Eyed-Many-Winged-Interlocking-Circles, Four-Faces-Six-Wings, and Mike.
Literally Raphael is just a normal person!
this is what the heavenly breakroom is like
Oh no now I love the water cooler angel
