Contributor Applications Are Now OPEN!

Applications will be due September 1st. Please refer to our FAQ page for a tentative schedule and questions. We request that all applicants be 18 years or older.

This zine will remain canon-compliant or focus on "what-ifs" that uphold the spirit and "rules" of Gravity Falls. While contributors may explore or predict the lives of the characters 10 years in the future, we ask that no major changes to the canon be made. Stories and art should be reasonable additions to the universe and feel like that 3rd season we have all been wishing for.

And here we have the natural conclusion of the recent Hunt for Bigfoot series (part one here, and part two here) I’ve been doing – a return to the Oregon coast, bearing a gift for Bigfoot from Mabel.

The sweater depicts Bigfoot’s fellow PNW cryptid, the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus, which has become a favorite of Mabel’s ever since a Sea Grunk adventure a couple of years ago. (Seen recently again here.) Dipper would like Mabel to get down in front, so he can get some sketching done for his notes.

(As mentioned before, I’ve loosely based my Bigfoot design on the life-sized figure – made of grizzly fur I believe – at the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine (my photos here). Only, I’ve tried to make his fur a bit more redwoods-colored, and my take on his skin color is a sort of moss/lichen green, perfect for blending into the woods.)

We believe that some of the most important things we can do as fans is support one another. So every month we will be hosting a fic club (like a book club but better) on our discord. Every month we assign a fic to discuss as a group during the last weekend of every month. This is a positive event where we leave comments and praise for the author to read later.

Due to a successful interest check, moderator applications are opening early! I'm so thrilled to officially start this project! Applications will close June 11th.

This will be my first time running a zine of this size and I will need plenty of guidance throughout the project. While experience is not necessary it is preferred. I am eager to learn from the experts in the zine community! As needs change, I may take on more than one mod per position or may add extra positions. If you have previously worked with someone on another zine and are interested in sharing a role, let me know in your application.

Here’s the roles that need to be filled:

Formatting mod: Organizes the zine into a pdf format and possibly help with graphics. Will help manage artists and ensure all images meet the required dimensions. Preferably has experience with printing zines.

Merchandise mod: Handles the production of merchandise and ensuring it all ends up where it needs to go. Will work closely with shipping mod(s).

Finance mod: Responsible for all monetary transactions and filing. This is an 18+ role and experience is preferred.

Shipping mod(s): Receives, packages, and ships all the zines and bundles. This is an 18+ role. If you and a friend want to tag team, this is the role for you! I will take on a social media/mass communications role, as well as working with the writers as a proof reader (my MA in media communications has to be good for something, right?)
