I won't call them plot-holes, but...

Fresh off the back of finally reading being emotionally destroyed by both tbosas and sotr, I'm in awe of how well Suzanne Collins has managed to integrate two very different stories so completely with the world-building of the original trilogy, this right here is how you prequel.

The only problem is that I'm now left with three unanswered questions that even doing a deep-dive on the ol' Hunger Games wiki hasn't solved, so I'm happy to hear your wackiest headcannons:

If Burdock Everdeen and Lenore Dove are cousins, who were their mothers? There are only three covey Bairds left in district 12 in tbosas, Lucy Gray vanishes, Barb Azure is most likely a lesbian, and Maude Ivory would be about 50 in sotr, which seems unusually old to have a teenage son or daughter when we're told it's not uncommon to be married at 16 in the districts. Are they both her grandkids?

Tigris reappears as a character in Mockingjay having been completely absent from the three books in between, and it's pretty clear she's entirely down with Katniss killing president Snow. Leaving aside the obvious fact that he's responsible for horrors beyond comprehension, what exactly happened between them when they were still getting on fine at the end of tbosas? Did she have to go an pick up her little cousin from A&E one too many times after early attempts to poison his enemies? Or was it just a gradual estrangement? Either way, in the films she looks good for 87.

Why has homophobia become a thing in district 12 during sotr, while same-sex relationships aren't treated as a big deal in tbosas, it seems odd that people would be less accepting 40 years later no?
