Are you Privacy Aware? For us, everyday is Data Privacy Day
In a world where applications and services are digital and connected, protecting your information and your data is very important. Data Privacy Day is a special data to encourage people to protect your privacy and control your data. The day celebrates the anniversary of the signing of the Council of Europe's Convention for the Protection of Individuals with Regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data in 1981. The holiday was first celebrated in 2007 and promotes the need for data privacy. It also helps raise awareness about how people can protect their data and their privacy, online and offline.
What can you do to protect your data privacy?
Personal information is shared between web services. It is important to understand exactly what data the applications and services are collecting and what the privacy policies are.
Protect your login: Use strong passwords and a second authentication factor.
Stay current: Make sure your applications and operating system are up to date.
Be in control: Analyze what information is collected.
In doubt, do not click: Attacks are common through links and emails. Do not click on unknown links or open unknown attachments.
Share with care: Evaluate who views information.
Privacy is also very important for business
Information and documents are the knowledge of businesses and there is a growing concern about security and privacy, as there is also increasing the number of ransomware attacks and data leaks.
Build a privacy model: Create a privacy policy and align infrastructure and software with these policies.
Create a culture of privacy: Educate employees about their responsibilities in privacy and security.
Be transparent: If you collect personal data, be honest and transparent about the use of information.
Store safely: Your company data is very valuable. Store and share safely.
How to celebrate?
You can share these resources because they help create a more secure internet for the billions of people online. We sugest some privacy-themed movies to think more about:
1984
Citizen Four
Code 2600
Gattaca
Minority Report
Terms and Conditions May Apply
The Lives of Others
Privacy is in our DNA
We believe privacy is a fundamental right and people should have transparency and control over their data. Happy Data Privacy Day.
