My latest babies. The first four are from Shamrock and Aztec. I am in awe of how beautiful they turned out. The last is from Asphodel and Ruiena, who normally make hideous babies, tbh, but I love how he turned out! I'll be selling them, though I'm thinking of keeping number four. Please, make offers if you're interested! I'll link when I get to my desktop, but you can find them in my lair (owlisholive).
I've been a little bit vanishy, still checking in on my dragons, but I obviously haven't been on Tumblr much. I'll try and get the 50 Days started back up by this evening.
“The moon has awoken with the sleep of the sun. The light has been broken, The spell has begun”
Luciana came into this clan as a small hatchling, the smallest of her nest and the least colorfull. Her father didn’t want her to have the same fate as him. He knew she would be safe in his home clan but he wanted to be sure. Her father thought her survival skill and some magic. She slways had been facinated with plague, she had heard stories of alchemists brewing poisons strong enough to bring down Hydra’s and about fierce battle mage’s taking on horrible beasts and bringing them down with terrible magic. She decided she wanted to make these tales true, to become the truth in flesh and bones. Her parents took her to Judas his clan, knowing that he would taking her in, he doesn’t care about colors but about personallity and actions.
Once Luciana was settled in the clan she was 2 days old. She immediately took a liking to Ashfall, a big, grumpy, old Guardian who is covered in scars from his battles. He is the headsman and controles the guard but thats not why she took a liking to him, she likes him because he’s the same as her, atleast in her eyes. The old Guardian has dark colors and he seems to be fine, he doesn’t feel lesser then others and he wears his colors in pride. When she grew up he became her trainer, training her in battle. She also took lessons from Messiah, the current alchemist of the clan, a bit odd but a great teacher. The magic she learned herself. Dragging books with her from the huge library, studying and practicing every night to become stronger.
Now, she is the fierce hero in the tales of old. Bringing terrible monsters down with magic and poisons. She fights reckless but with a strong heart and now that she’s older she tells the stories from when she was young to the hatchling, hoping to inspire them like they did to her.

this was writen on my phone so sorry for any errors. also she’s still a hatchling that’s why she doesn’t have any apparal yet. @owlrising
My clan has welcomed a new member! Meet Luciana, an apprentice Alchemist and a fierce battle mage who likes to seek out trouble. Het lore will be up soon, I’m still working on her bio layout
I don’t really have a “mascot,” so this question is kind of a dud for me. Juliette here, however, is my Wind rep (right colors, eyes, and breed). Since I’m a Wind clan, I’ll pick her for today’s question. Isn’t she lovely?
Omg I used the same name twice... Once for the prince and again for a new hatchling. I guess I really like "Riven"? Any suggestions on what to change the PC to?
Technically I guess that would fall to Jude, but he “rules” hand-in-hand with his mate, Mica. There’s no real special “reason” as far as the lore goes. They just happened to found the clan and are good leaders. They have a huge army of heirs going, too. Seven children (one adopted, six natural; I don’t count their first three hatchlings from when I joined for lore purposes), plus five grandchildren already, and not done yet. Prince Lennox is their heir, if you’re curious, and Prince Riven is his.
As to why I chose them, the reason is simply that they’re my progens. I started building the clan lore when they were nearly all I had, so it worked out of that.
Looks like a giant house spider (Eratigena atrica). If i’m correct then there’s nothing to fear, they’re gentle giants who keep insects and other spiders away
It looks a LOT like them from the markings, hmm… They shouldn’t be in my area, though. I’m in Tennessee, US. They’re a European spider that accidentally ended up in the New York and Pacific NW areas.
Though literally as I’m typing this, I’ve come across American House Spiders through Google that are in Tennessee and look very similar… Hmm…
Yeah, I think I’ve settled on Wolf Spider, which is really common here. Technically not dangerous, mild venom, non-aggressive unless threatened. I theoretically could ignore her, but since she managed to get inside my screen, I got my husband to spray the window. Toooooo close for comfort.
No I sold it, wich was stupid but I needed that sweet dragon cash. I’ve been dragged into G1 hell for the past few days and now I have pretty Fea advisor and a soon to be ridgeback zombie/warrior T.T
So, I am a hoarder… My “I don’t know if I can work another water dragon into my lore” turned into “I’m gonna buy two expensive gen one waters and come up with a whole convoluted storyline.” So now that I’m broke again, I introduce to you Nereida and Kai. I also picked up Zura from @snosdergs because I’m a hoarder, but I’m not gonna write anything for her until I figure out what I’m going to do for lore.
Kai is a 7-digit, two-year-old, unbred, XYY gen one and I nearly fainted that I could snag him. Nereida is somewhat less impressive on paper, but she has two blue tones and I love them together. She’s so pretty.
The lore got way longer than I expected oops. WHY DID KAI’S GET SO MUCH LONGER THAN NEREIDA’S?
Nereida is a gifted prophet. Since her birth deep beneath the waves, she was sheltered away, rarely left alone, not free to wander and be a carefree hatchling like the other young of her clan. Her days revolved around lesson after lesson, from a general education to the ways of prophecy. She was a prodigy, her gift nurtured and cultivated by the dragons tasked to her care. It was a long time before she learned why. The truth was written on her skin in a script she did not know. When she asked about it, her caretakers had no answers, though she always suspected they weren’t always entirely truthful.
One day, deep in the archives of the library her clan’s elaborate home held, she found the answer. She learned there that she was the daughter of the Tidelord, not simply an orphan from a found egg.
She wasn’t sure how to feel about this information. All at once she was devastated by the secrets, terrified of the implications, excited for the opportunities, and also somehow relieved now that things were starting to make sense.
Getting her mind around this news was not going to happen overnight, but she was clear-headed enough to know one thing for certain: It was time to leave. Nereida was a fully matured dragon now and they would no longer keep her confined. She fled the Trench, leaving that life behind and surfacing for the first time in her life.
Kai is an ancient leviathan, born long ago in the very same place as Nereida, but more than a century before she was. His beginnings seemed very similar to hers: a lone egg, found by a gathering dragon who brought it back to his clan here's he was raised. Kai, however, was not the sheltered prodigy she was, nor was his origin as mysterious. He is not the son of a god, but simply an orphan.
Kai lacked the powers of foresight most Water dragons are born with, but he possessed an immense power over the water itself. He is an incredible water mage, having trained with the best and then continued refining his skills as he got older.
For most of his extensive life, Kai wandered all of Sornieth, like many Guardians. He had no Charge and knew he could not cease until he had one. However, he did not feel the same pull like many Guardians. Most knew the direction to go, even if it took them years to get there. He did not. He only knew that he was a Guardian and Guardians took charges and he would continue his Search until he found his. More than a hundred years passed, though, and he eventually resigned himself to the horrifying idea that perhaps he was one Guardian who did not have a Charge at all. This flung him into deep despair and it was only the primal instinct to live that kept him going from then on.
One bleak night, no different from any other, he tucked himself in, alone as always, in the cold waters of a cave lake. The icy chill soaked through his scales and into his bones, soothing the aches brought on my age and depression. He drifted off into sleep, but his night was not to be restful.
Kai didn’t dream often. He always suspected it had something to do with his lack of prophecy, or his lack of Charge, possibly both. He’d heard a lot of Guardians found clues toward their Charges in their dreams. Tonight, however, he did dream.
In his dream, Kai was back home in the Leviathan Trench. He was at home in the cold, dark waters, his great wings propelling him along with wide strokes, his fins flared to steer him where he needed to go. Not for the first time, he was out above the Trench and headed toward its dark waters. As a hatchling, he’d loved scaring his caretakers and the other hatchlings by seeing how deep he could go before getting scared. It was always deeper than the others and he was almost always in trouble afterward.
Now he was no hatchling and there was no nanny dragon to scold him back to their home. The same thrill of danger and excitement filled him as he tucked his frills and limbs in and dove deep, deep, down into the darkness. He dove further and further, the blackness swallowing him and as the fear filled him, so did the exhilaration. He hadn’t felt this alive in decades. He knew at any moment something terrible could come out of the dark and swallow him up, he’d heard the legends. He did not care. That was the point, to challenge fate. He had no prophecy and knew no future, so he refused to be afraid. If he died today, he would die living and without fear.
At that thought, all apprehension left him and he felt nothing but the joy and excitement of the deep unknown. Only a moment later, he burst out of the black, as though it was simply a cloud of octoflyer ink. He knew he wasn’t in the Trench anymore, the dark of these waters seeming terribly bright after the blackness he’d been in. He was still deeper than he’d ever been before in his waking life, touching down on the ocean floor.
The soft muddy silt squished around his webbed toes as he glided forward across the floor, toward the giant conch he knew from the legends to be the Spiral Keep. Upon that realization, he knew suddenly how deep he was. The pressure should have killed him on the spot, but he didn’t feel a thing. Was he already dead? The thought occurred to him and sent a chill down his spine, but he kept moving forward toward the Keep.
Swimming about the Keep, and looking as effortless as though they were flying through the air that was thousands of feet above them, were brilliantly glowing dragons. There were all kinds, even flaming Coatls and earth-eyed Snappers, but most often there were Guardians like him. They were every color in the rainbow, brilliantly patterned, and every one of them seemed to glow slightly.
The Exalted.
He realized it and was filled with awe. Few people living ever saw an Exalted dragon again. But that wasn’t the end. Two Ridegbacks larger than he was - it was so odd to see them in the water - glided down to him effortlessly. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. They were silent as well, taking him and leading him into the conch.
They glided along the spiral, climbing higher and higher, past opalescent doors and fabulous rooms, until they reached the top. Then, they were gone and he was alone. The room was made, floor, walls, and ceiling, from what looked like solid black pearl. It was so large he felt as though he were a mouse and when he realized what was in front of him it didn’t make that feeling go away.
It was the Tidelord himself. He was waiting silently before Kai, towering over him. He had appeared out of nowhere, yet Kai felt as though he’d been standing there the entire time and Kai, the foolish mortal he was, had yet to notice or acknowledge him.
Kai prostrated himself before his god, looking away. He was not worthy of this. He was only Kai, the disgraced half-dragon with no Charge. But the Tidelord seemed to rumble deeply, the conch vibrating with the force of it, bubbles filling the room and filtering out through the opening at the top of the conch. Kai peeked out to realize his god was laughing.
“Stand, Kai,” he ordered. His words were not spoken in the common draconic, but something far more ancient. Somehow, though, Kai understood. Trembling, he obeyed the order. “I have been watching you since you were first brought forth from that egg. You are a creature I am proud to call my own.”
Shocked, Kai forgot to be afraid, forgot to avert his eyes and he looked straight up at his god. “What? W-why? I am half a dragon. I have no Charge, I have no--”
“You are my child. At the birth of the world, I saw everything that was to come, everything that still is. You are exactly where you are supposed to be. Or have you abandoned fate? Do you think that because you cannot see it, you have no destiny? Have you abandoned me, Kai of the Trench?”
Shame filled Kai and he looked away once more. “No, no, I haven’t--”
“Do not lie to a god, child.”
It should have felt wrong to be called child. He was ancient in the eyes of the other dragons. Few dragons lived that were older than he was. But he knew that compared to an immortal being, as old as time, who could see to the end of the world, he was but a blip on the radar.
“I have not abandoned you, my lord,” Kai answered, suddenly finding his voice. The shame left, replaced by the same pain and anger that had filled him for decades now. “You abandoned me! I dedicated everything to you, learned everything I could, traveled the entire world for decades, and I am still only half a dragon! I have no prophecy, no Charge, no soul, no reason to live! I have been abandoned by my god. I am cursed. And now you accuse me of abandoning you when I spent my entire life trying to serve you, trying to live up to your teachings, only to be forsaken by you...”
The Tidelord didn’t move, didn’t speak a word as Kai yelled at him, waiting until he finished. When he had, he was not angry. In fact, he looked a little sad. “I am sorry,” he said after a long silence. “But you were not abandoned. I promise, Kai, I was with you every day. Your hope has dwindled, but you stayed alive. You kept going, even filled with all of that anger. You are strong. You are a powerful child of water and I am proud to call you mine.”
“I have no prophecy,” Kai said again.
“I have prophecy enough without you,” the Tidelord dismissed. “As does your Charge.”
Kai’s heart seemed to skip a beat and he stared at the god in disbelief. “But I don’t--”
“You do. Every one of my children has a Charge, Kai, and I know that despite your anger you did not truly stop believing this. Your power lies not in prophecy, Kai, but that is not a thing of shame. You command the water almost as skillfully as...” The Tidelord let out another deeply, rumbling chuckle. “Well, me. You are a fighter and a survivor. I have watched you. I saw you dive into the Trench every time. I saw you now, releasing your fear and accepting the unknown, letting the black take you. You are the one I have chosen to protect my daughter.”
Before Kai could speak, the world around him shifted and he was somewhere else, floating in the water near the top of the Trench. He would recognize it any day, the entrance to his birth home. It had changed in a hundred years, though. Only the carved arch to the main entrance identified it as his old home, and it was well-worn by the years.
Out of the entrance hurtled a Guardian unlike any he’d ever seen. She was obviously fully mature, but smaller than he would have expected. For her size, though, her wings were quite large, nearly as large as his own though he was nearly double her length. They were almost completely translucent, but that wasn’t the most striking thing about her. Rising from her back were two large dorsal fins. She also had small, extra fins attached to her head and limbs, plus a glowing blue bulb at the top of her head, lighting the way in the darkness of the Trench. Her markings were unlike those he’d ever before seen, even knowing all the different ways the body was often adapted in those born this deep beneath the waves. He himself had bioluminescent markings along his body and horns that glowed slightly in the dark.
He was nothing compared to her. He’d never seen anything as beautiful as this female. And then as soon as he’d gotten a good look at her, she pointed herself upward and rocketed toward the light.
“My daughter.” It was the Tidelord’s voice, at Kai’s side. He turned, but instead of the immense god he saw a small creature of legend: a Bubbling Goblin. It had horns and fins that mimicked those of the Guardians, though it was not draconic in any other way. Its eyes glowed and when it opened its mouth, the Tidelord’s voice came out. “She is your Charge. She is leaving here now and you must find her. She will be alone and afraid; you will be at her side and protect her. This is what you were born for. This is why you have wandered all these years, growing stronger and wiser. This is what you have been tested for. Go. Find her. Your Search has begun.”
The creature’s eyes stopped glowing and it blinked, as though unaware of what it had been used for. It trilled curiously at Kai before extending one clawed forepaw. Kai took it and the two rose quickly through the water...
When Kai broke the surface, he was not in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, but back in his cave, deep in the Viridian Labyrinth. His gills clamped shut and he took a long gulp of air through his mouth as his body made the switch from water to air. It was painful every time, but one learned to ignore such things. There was a shrill squawk from beside him and Kai jerked around to see the goblin, his body having obviously done the same thing, though he was certainly not used to it like Kai was. He was startled to realize that this ocean dweller had appeared here in his little lake. Had it been real then? Was it truly not a dream?
Kai scooped the small creature up and climbed out of the pool, the goblin settling on his shoulders between his wings. He looked back at the dark water and was startled to see his reflection. In the dim light, he could usually see his face slightly, but now glowing at his forehead was a bright blue rune, seeming to hover just above the surface of his skin. It was the symbol of the Water Flight, one he knew well but had not seen in quite some time. There was no way this was a dream then, unless he was still dreaming.
Stepping back, away from the water, his hind foot brushed against something on the floor, something that made a metallic noise against the stone. He turned to find a magnificent trident, nearly as long as his body, with a harness to attach it to his side. When he carefully picked it up, it felt as though it was humming with power. He gave it a wave and the water of the black lake worked up into a fury, rising up and crashing against the far wall of the cave. He’d never experienced power like that and stared at the weapon in awe.
“I will never doubt you again, my lord,” Kai murmured reverently, putting on the weapon. The little goblin scrambled to help him and Kai felt a strange surge of affection toward it. “What should I call you?” he mused out loud. The creature’s eyes glowed for just a fraction of a second. “Gyatso,” Kai said, the name coming to him, as though put in his head by the creature. Or perhaps it was the Tidelord? It didn’t matter.
“Let’s go find her, Gyatso,” he said to the creature, who trilled in agreement. Together they headed out of the cave, Kai knowing for the first time in his long life where to go.
I like to have these sorts of compilation posts on hand for genes that add extra colors, so I figured I might as well throw one together. These images are absolutely huge and I didn’t downsize them at all, so for the full experience I would recommend opening them in another tab.
Poor “unlucky” feather sneks... But their dad is a gray and got rejected, so he’s not going to let that happen to them XD except I have to sell at least two (probably the left and right) so how do I write that into lore? Crap...
