A small bookstore, neatly placed among some of Little Tokyo’s most popular cafes and eateries-- Owl’s Books offers a wide array in its surprisingly large selection of literature. Whether you’re interested in getting into a new series, or finding something you’ve read before, please do stop by.  If you can think it, they most likely carry it. If they don’t, then feel free to make a suggestion! The owner is a curious sort, so she wouldn’t mind some feedback from her clientele.

Name: Tsuru Akiudo Age: 24 Why are you interested in this job? (Sales Associate): Well, I’ll be honest and say it’s because I need money like anyone else but I also think this just appeals to me for how simple it should be. I can’t imagine selling books to be very hard, though I could be wrong and make a total fool of myself…we shall see! Are you able to work a 7-hour shift by yourself, if you have to?: I suppose. I’ve done things that require much more responsibility but I won’t get into what that exactly entails. Just trust that I will be able to handle the shop by myself if need be. Are you able to keep the store’s books neat and orderly?: But of course. I’ll even organize all the books in alphabetical order if it pleases you! Gives me something to do when I’m not entertaining the customers, can’t say I’d dislike that. Do you have any retail or customer service experience?: Not conventionally, I suppose. But I guess I do have a way with people that you could say I do have experience in dealing with them. I’ve dealt with all types, so I’m pretty confident in my ability to handle just about anyone.

Why are you interested in this job? (Sales Associate): Well, books are… Eh… Kind of my thing. I’ve loved them for as long as I can remember, and being surrounded by them seems like the best way to earn money here — short of bringing Huntsmen to Isola, I guess!

Do you have any retail or customer service experience?: Nope, not really! But I’ve done a lot of odd jobs while traveling… Most of them were extermination — but not always!!

Why are you interested in this job? (Sales Associate): Er… I–like books? I tend to read in my spare time, so I believe it would be nice to be able to… I don’t know. Suggest some of the books to customers with firsthand experience. I cannot say I have exactly… sold anything before, but er, why not start now or some such.

Are you able to work a 7-hour shift by yourself, if you have to?: Yes. I have no problems with being alone and handling anything that may arise with myself. It’s more of an expertise of mine than sales. I am quite a speedy person, even with what this city has taken away from me, so I could quickly hop from place to place if required. Regardless, any sort of stress of working by myself would be no issue, so long as I am able to keep my phone on my person.

Are you able to keep the store’s books neat and orderly?: Yes. I have never had an issue with organization, I would simply need to be told what way to do so.

Do you have any retail or customer service experience?: Oh I answered this already didn’t I. I do not. I didn’t particularly… hm. “Get out much”, I suppose, before coming here. There was not much I could exactly have pitched to sell, let alone anyone I could have pitched it to.

Are you able to keep the store’s books neat and orderly?: Of course, I was a big book aficionado back in my world. As my most cherished possessions, they must be neat and ready for the customers.

Do you have any retail or customer service experience?: Not really, but I do know how to manage social arrangements as the daughter of a duke. I am well-versed in etiquette when necessary.

Oh wow! I didn’t expect this much attention for this blog, especially not so quickly! Thank you all so much! Because of this, I’ll be closing the submit box tomorrow night. 

Throughout the week, I’ll get back with muns this week about hiring their characters for the store, and I’ve edited also the store’s hours on the ABOUT page. Out of the current (and any future ones that come before I close the submit box) applications, a manager, an assistant manager, and three to four sales associates will be chosen. My apologies for not expecting this and having the job titles more accurately prepared.
