It's absolutely hilarious, has a fantastic plot and worldbuilding, and still somehow faithful to its source material in many ways despite its overt divorce from it.

I've been throwing around drafts and concepts for an ao3-fuckery ergodic mess, springboarding off some of the stunts you pulled with BONES OF BLACK MARROW (thanks for opening up my eyes to the possibilities of css/svg/html chaos you can implement on ao3). Are you okay with people picking apart the code you used via inspect element and repurposing bits of it, or would you rather I work from scratch? + i cannot for the life of me figure out how you did the chapter 9-25 blackout trick, would you be willing to share your arcane secrets

yeah sure feel free to inspect/copy whatever. i exploit how the ao3 css parser works in order to do "full page" stuff and it's 10000% not intended to be doable so you're on your own. it's the one secret i will not reveal so as not to ruin the fun for anyone else

I read your fic Lightkeepers a few days ago at like 4 am and I cant stop thinking about it. The way you describe the scenery, how hot it is, and the emotions are all so perfect. The way its written made me imagine everything so vivdly. The art that goes along with it is also so beautiful! I really love the first, 6th, and last pieces in particular. Ive always found the dynamic of Fujiko/Jigen really interesting and you portrayed them exactly how I imagine their dynamic. I love seeing Fujiko not putting on a show and just being real, I was fucking cheering and clapping when Jigen told her to not do fake moaning. Also Jigen being so guarded because darkest secret is that hes a hopeless romantic is so good I was biting my arm off, I love that shit. <3

do u ever reread stuff u wrote just for the fun of reading it?

no i find my own fanfic to be extremely dull and boring (with a handful of exceptions). this is to the point where it used to take me an entire month to read through my huge homestuck longfics to ascertain i thematically closed everything because i would legitimately fall asleep after 1000 words

original or paid work i have a different process and generally enjoy re-reading/editing. it's just fic that's like this

How do you ensure the translations in your fics are accurate? Like whenever you use a foreign language, do you just use Google Translate or ? I could use the advice 😂

sorry for the non answer but i literally only use languages i've studied lmao (and in one case i just asked someone who knew the language). if i had to use like, german, or something else i had legit no idea about, i would probably look up actual literary sentences on project gutenberg (or another tool that has english translations side-by-side with context) and just copy one, i wouldn't use any translation tools. i don't trust em lol

Bro I never read fanfic because I got the ADHD and honestly can never finish reading anything. I love comics though- which is how I found your page, and I thought you should know I was so floored and entertained by Supermassive R.O. that I feel like I just binge watched a really good TV show. You should know as a writer and illustrator that your work is so good you deadass converted a non-fanfic reader lmfao. It's great character writing, awesome artstyle and visuals, funny, heartbreaking and consistently thrilling- It's amazing. Take care :D

hi! i'm a huge fan of your other fic and i'd love to read your new work but the only lupin iii i've seen is castle of cagliostro. how much of lupin do i need to watch to understand the fic? and do you have any particular recommendations for episodes or movies?

you're good to read it if you've just seen cagliostro, although you need to know three things for the fic:

Lupin III varies WILDLY in tone, ranging from "golden hearted rogue does a hero quest" (Cagliostro) to "lmao what if bugs bunny was a murder rapist" (the manga) with most everything landing firmly in the middle of those two extremes.

Sometimes in the franchise Zenigata gets like, a sidekick who helps him solve crimes or whatever. some of these sidekicks will show up in the fic but they're really one note lol

Fujiko's a tits-out gaslight gatekeep queen and Lupin's a full on simp for it. Miyazaki did not keep these character traits in his movie because he is a coward.

And RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IF YOU WANT TO START WATCHING MORE LUPIN TO READ MY FIC (please watch lupin everybody it's so good you'll like something in it i promise). LET'S START WITH MOVIES:

Lupin III: The First (2019) -- CGI movie and most similar to Cagliostro (eg. family friendly). basically just does a better job of introducing the characters (Miyazaki sort of woobified them). plot's kinda shit but the animation slaps so hard you don't care. seriously just check out these opening credits

Mystery of Mamo (1978) -- This movie is the most "Lupin-core" and probably the most similar to what my fic will be. Lupin himself is kind of a monster in this and it's compelling to watch, like the total opposite of his Cagliostro self. There's jank 70s animation and a confusing plot but I love it a lot, I think it's my favorite Lupin movie. There are four English dubs and you want either the Geneon or Streamline dubs, both have hilarious scripts.

Koike Trilogy (2010s) -- These are hour long edgy grindhouse OVAs done by Takeshi Koike and they're just good fun. Here's a cool AMV that sorta sums it up. The action is SICK and the style is superb and I really aim to recreate that level of artistry. You watch 'em in this order: Jigen's Gravestone, Goemon's Bloodspray, Fujiko's Lie. Goemon's Bloodspray is far and away the best one but all three slap.

ok and you don't need to watch any of these to read my fic but i thought i'd put in anime that are good to start with too:

Lupin III: Part 2 (late 70s) -- This is what people think of when they think "Lupin III." If saturday morning cartoons mixed with It's Always Sunny sounds good to you then this is the show 4 u. You can literally just skip around, there's 0 continuity and they're all equally nuts. If an english dub is available WATCH THE ENGLISH DUB. TMS has a catered list of episodes people consider their favorites on youtube. However, this list notably does not include episode 145, which is a really impressive Miyazaki directed episode that's worth seeking out.

Lupin III: Part 1 (1971) -- If you're like me and completely deranged about 1970s animation this is like the holy grail of anime. This is where I started watching Lupin III and loved it from the get-go lmao. Animation is Chunky and Limited but I really liked the "darker" antics and the low budget action scenes. There's an english dub for this but it was done 50 years after the fact and sounds... not great lol.

Lupin III: Part 4 (2015)-- If you want to binge watch a newer show this is the place to start. Parts 4, 5, and 6 all have continuity so you can't skip around on those. Personally I thought Part 4 was dull but everyone seems to like it, so, idk, might just be me. has the world's coolest op

The Woman Called Fujiko Mine (2012) -- This legitimately might be my favorite anime ever. Made by Sayo Yamamoto of Yuri!!! On Ice fame, this is a 13 episode origin story done in a highbrow academic neo noir style that specifically lampshades a lot of the tropes Fujiko got stuck with. Has a lot of really interesting things to say about male gaze and storytelling and such. FYI while still humorous, it is EXTREMELY dark. Like if this were on AO3 it would check off all four major warning tags. You can't really show clips on youtube due to the crazy amounts of nudity in this, but here's a cool trailer funimation made back in the day.
