This took much longer than expected...
But here is the next installment in the Mechanic's Journey! This time, he is traveling with Virgil and Sally and, unsurprisingly (to us) his day isn't going as he had planned.
A bit of warning for blood and a medical procedure for this one, although whumpers will probably laugh at me and go "that's it?" ๐คญ
As usual, huge, huge thanks to @willow-salix for beta-reading each story I send her and helping me make them less of a mess. Any remaining mistakes are mine.

The Mechanic didnโt know what had motivated him to accept Virgilโs offer to go to the mainland. Perhaps it was simply because he had barely gone off the island since his return from the Hex and he had to admit he was a little fidgety.
He frowned as he finished tying his boot, then pulled his pant leg over it. His heavy and stiff body armor almost acted as a second skin and he usually wore it while working on the Zero-XL. However, it would stick out like a sore thumb while running errands and so he had opted for a pair of jeans and a buttoned t-shirt from his small wardrobe.
She had insisted that he got clothes. His own things. Scott Tracyโs didnโt fit anyway.
The Mechanic assumed he would feel less vulnerable with something that fit him. Considering the sleeves of the t-shirt were much longer than what he usually wore, he was more covered than usual, and yet... things hadnโt improved much from when he had arrived as a stowaway on Thunderbird Three.
It was possible to feel utterly naked while being fully clothed.
He wondered for a moment if he could cancel all this and stay on the island. Sometimes, the thought of being out there, exposed to the general public like any other person, terrified him.
He was so absorbed in his own thoughts that the short knock on his bedroom door made him jump.

And as it's the case with Kayo, I can't seem to leave his hair alone, so once again, I decided that he ran out of hair gel. I really wasn't sure how he would come out at first; I'm pleasantly surprised at how he came out. ๐ง
