Certain things that happen in this fandom are a bit pathetic and puzzling at the same time.
1. Constantly convincing others by force that a given character is stupid, unnecessary and should die. What's the point of that? If it is easier for someone to identify with Waylon, Chris or Eddie, then the way is clear. Let people like whoever they want, draw who they want, and no one should have any complaints about it. The same go for ships. Respect applies to everyone and if someone wants to draw ship MilesxChris and enjoys it, being in this and no other fandom, let someone do it. Nobody should understand why someone do that.
2. Insulting people because of character they like or not. This is related to point 1, but I also encountered it many times being here for 2 years. Some people especially have some unspoken problem for Eddie and his fans. Just because someone likes him does not mean that he is taking an example from him. It is known that no one, being an adult, normal human, would follow the example of a serial killer, c'mon. The fact that you may not like him is obvious, does not mean that you have to bulling someone who just like him.
3. Being children in the fandom who have a problem with porn, homicide, death, gore etc. Everyone knows that Outlast as a game is not intended for people under the age of 18. I do not understand why a lot of children who are in the fandom and consciously say that they are, for example, 14 years old and do not like how weird is in groups are still here. From the beginning, it was known that the fandom is aimed at older audiences, so it should not surprise anyone that such fanarts are taking place.
4. Saying that through people who draw gore, porn or violence, other new people won't want to stay here. The truth is, if anyone is interested, they will stay anyway. You cannot blame anyone that someone was not interested in the plot of the game and that he did not stay here for a long time. The problem, in my opinion, concerns toxic people and the fact that if something does not suit them and they have personal preferences, they immediately want to impose it on others, which repels newer people.
I could mention the strange OCs that the authors use to convey their point of view, elevating or lowering other characters in the game, in and of itself over-sexualizing the characters in the fandom, but I think those things that I mentioned are enough. Anyway, in a game intended for adults, you can expect such treatments and it should come as no surprise to anyone. In my opinion, they are terrible and should not be happening. If someone has a different opinion, they will be happy to discuss.
