Every now and then I'll get new activity on this blog from my early YNDD speculation and hype. It's kind of funny to think people are still interested in that project. I liked it well enough, but as a brief era in the fandom, it was unique.

It felt like being a deep-sea dweller and receiving a whale fall.

The community is a completely new beast now. YN is so much more accessible and mainstream, which is probably a good thing. Having a bunch of kids download mysterious mid-2000s .exes and annoying applocales, and other various workarounds for the spooky exploration game was a nightmare.

I don't really care too much about Yume Nikki these days, but it's weird to see how the community is just sorta consistently present.

Earlier this year I put a bunch of songs from Yume Nikki, Milk Inside/Outside onto a cassette. I wanna say this was the first or second time I tried recording onto cassette, most of it sounds off but I enjoy this one in particular still.
