LONESTAR is the name of the book series I am nearly completed in writing the first book of! The exact name of the first book is still being debated over.
In a world where land masses can become spirits, a young Tejas starts the story in 1648, when he is taken by Spaniards and sent to live with the rest of New Spain.
This is a story about colonization, imperialism, the role Christianity played in the New World, and the effects all three of these topics still have on us today. This is a story about friendship, love, what makes a family, and how much someone can truly preserve in a world where nothing gets better for a long, long time; how much a person can change, how a person develops when one can never die.
Over the course of the series, Tejas--and later Texas--will deal with a multitude of issues and will, in the end, come out as someone wholly, peculiarly himself. He meets many people, deals with many situations, and does many things-- good and bad. He battles with internalized racism, queer identity, and the process of constant assimilation.
I am a Hispanic bisexual girl who has an interest in both Mexican history and American history. I am an author. I am an artist. Even though I have had the blessing of growing up in the 21st century, I am someone who has been through a lot of the things I write about.

WHEN WILL LONESTAR 1# BE OUT?
Ah! There is no telling, honestly. The first book is about 3-5 chapters away from being done (at more than 100k words) but there is also the process of heavy editing and actually getting it published as a book! If nothing else, I'll probably just make it an E-book. My goal is to get this thing out there, completed and edited and perfected until my cheeks ache from smiling.
