Been a while, checking in on you again. Hows it goin?
Heyyy!! I'm on my fifth job of the calendar year LOL but this one's seeming to be pretty stable so far so I feel a bit better! I've been catching up on reading lately, recently read Love Bullet and couldn't help but draw Team Sockeye as a cupid squad........ I feel they're suited for it, hehe. (Well, maybe not to be good at it, but entertaining as they are ...)
Been a few months with no updates, everything aight?
short answer YES, just busy!! I keep thinking i can pick back up regular pacing and then life keeps me away from the pen, gahhh. I feel a little embarrassed abt being quiet for so long, but I'll keep my rambling long answer below a readmore in a sec - though nevertheless OYH will continue till it's DONE!!! and hopefully soon!!
HOKAY LONG ANSWER literally the biggest roadblock i've been running into with OYH and why it's taking so long, is that I keep rewriting it!!! I think my problem is that i get excited and write myself into a bunch of corners unknowingly, and then once i get to the part i said i'd 'figure out later' its harder to figure out in the moment than i expected. LOL
for example, in CH4 where we're at, i had a lot of dialogue only for important character devo, when it would be muuuuuch better shown, rather than just told! so i remade it, and ended up adding like 8 or so more pages than I initially sketched, and while I try not to be a perfectionist, sometimes you learn and grow as an artist.....and looking back at poor writing you did a couple years ago makes you SQUIRMMMMMM. with webcomics, I know it'll never get done if I have this mentality LOL but the crux of it all is just that i really need to plan ahead properly! Which after a few years, I feel like i know what i NEED to do, i just need to ACTUALLY do it, which i'm doing with chapter 5 right now (which is being sketched rn actually!! solving my pacing problems AHEAD OF TIME!!)
between a move across a few states and working fulltime, and having a thriving social life (sparkle sparkle) i do keep pretty busy outside of postin art, but I have admittedly been putting off OYH because of the above roadblock! It's easier to draw pencil doodles and finish em, rather than slowly chip away at a big project, huh?
I have been indulging in a lot of fan content over on my main @gingersn4pp (i'm so ENA brained rn) and playing around with other OC's, though again, OYH will never die and neither will i!!!!! I'm just takin it easy while i plan ahead a bit more properly OTL Thanks for the patience, tho I know yall are understanding of the passion project woes~ TYSM for the checkin nonetheless! ;___; !!!!

Preciate the patience!! The only reason I got back to regular scheduling was because I thought I had it all figured out, but alas....I am my own worst enemy. Realizing AFTER things are drawn that the writing needs serious work has been my biggest enemy this chapter...
So I've been drawing other things for fun for a while LOL and figuring out my writing problems along the way, gahah!
I'm sorry....!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't mean to leave OYH on read I just am woefully distracted a a new obsession, Ive spent all my drawing time drawing that instead over on my main....
I am shrimply a fool that is drawing what I enjoy and rn LN is just barely above OYH at the moment, I'll be back soon....!!!!!!!!!!
Also, I stg I see the wonderful asks that have come in, I'm waiting to answer em till the chapters done! We're getting close, and I'll go thru em all :9 TYSM for ur patience, I really appreciate the comments and asks and tags 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
