This cannot be happening to them. Once again, the universe spits on her in malice and sticks her in a cramp space with the bane of her existence. She’d rather die than be stuck in a closet with a man, a hypocritical monster, much like he, who has killed many in cold blood and cares for no one but himself.

The epitome of selfishness and greed, he’s staring down at her with those dim icy blue eyes. The lack of light in the closet doesn’t deter either of them. It’s the light shining from the crack under the door illuminating his handsome yet devilish features that send a shudder of nerves in her body. His cruel beauty is what makes him scary. It’s the face of an angel his victims last see before they are met with death the most frightening thought she’s ever imagined.

He’s told her how he goes about taking his victims. He has a mask, especially gruesome and grotesque that matches the monster inside of him. He tortures these people in this mask, making them face their demon as they writhe in pain. But, it’s when they’re on the brink of death, when they’re barely hanging on by a thread, does he rip off the mask to show his beautiful features. He says he shows them that demons were once angels, that angels are the cruelest of creatures because it’s angels who have no emotion, no remorse, despite being the ones to protect mankind. Just as they see his face, he cuts that thread and they’re left in a abyss of pain and misery by an angelic-faced creature.

Being in a closet with him scares her more than her father because her father is ugly inside and out. It’s Jongsuk who is ethereal on the outside while corrupted in the inside that makes her shake. He’s the one who can cause real damage. He’s the one who can lure her in with charms then break her. He did it the first time they ever met and she can never forget it. She can never forget the same smile he gives her now in the closet, that smile that pulled her in a for a kiss then cut out her heart the moment afterwards.

She curses under her breath when she hears his deep chuckle resonating from all corners of the small space and back to her. It makes her feel hollow so she all but blows the door out of its hinges and disappears in the light that shines blindly, abruptly, the moment after.
