I love love love writing the most sickeningly self indulgent straw hat fics. Sanji and Nami are platonically soulmates and bond over food insecurity. Zoro grumbles but he’d do anything any of them asked of him. Luffy will never let his friends worry about him. Usopp is the heart of their love and joy. Chopper is smart and capable but will never mind being babied. Robin is so brave and strong and good but learns to be relaxed and at peace when with them. Franky is so smart he could overthrow a government if he wasn’t so busy making robots that can make his bed for him. Brook treasures every moment with them and yet isn’t a lick more mature than his young friends. Jinbe would punch god for any of them but would apologize afterwards for the display of hasty passion. I don’t know, I get insecure about writing characters with the Proper characterization, but if I write them as capable and wonderful people who adore each other I can’t be all that far off.
