to apply my psychology notes this is called ethnocentrism, when a culture or nation deems itself superior to other cultures/nations so they will be disrespectful or dismissive of other cultures, they will carry this schema outside of their culture which can lead to prejudice thinking, discrimination, unappreciation of other cultures

this is why america will not respect and adapt the usual structure of world cup performances but will do it their way because it’s superior.

idk why they had the US host the world cup. i live here and can say that their not prepared this at all, even with eight years to prepare for it. some cities barely finished building the stadiums and others are somehow still under construction. and on top of that, ICE is insane in almost every single state rn and with people coming from different countries to see it, they’re bound to take people who shouldn’t be taken in the person place. the prices are insanely high and where the final is taking place you can’t even drive there, so the only option you have is to take NJ transit which upped their prices insanely or park in the mall next to it, which is charging $200 for it. and as someone who lives in nj, you can’t walk there as metlife is surrounds by swamps and highways, making it impossible to walk there. there’s so much wrong with it and we’re a week away from the damn event 😪

And the worst part is no one is criticising it or calling them out for anything. It's not even safe for any of the people of color heading there yet no one dares say a word when they all had opinions on Qatar. They only remember they have a voice when it's an Arab country 💀
