One of my favorite underrated animated aesthetics is those late 60’s-to-early-80’s ultra low-budget cartoons that are held together with bubblegum and the animators’ hopes and prayers, looks like it smells like cigarettes, but through sheer charisma it can overcome these setbacks. There’s a rawness to them you don’t see often anymore, with even a lot of internet cartoons being much more polished overall than they were in the 2000’s.
