That’s a two part answer. Regret it? Not really. I just think I didn’t really measure how popular it’d get, or how little positive encouragement I got to continue working on this (on that, thank you very much for your message, and all other good luck messages. If I haven’t answered, it’s because I keep it in my inbox to keep me going). Or how bad tumblr activity works (it’s a never-ending list, you can’t browse it by date or by type of note, so it slows down my computer really easily, and I have to be super careful or it freezes).
That said, I sort of built a system on how to do these.
You first start with the username. Read it once, twice, until you find something you can work on. That is, let your mind wander a bit.
Anonymous --An --isn’t that the symbol for gold? --fact check? or whatever, it’s gold
When you find that, you take a piece of it and stretch it.
Okay, so for gold you have King Midas, elements, shiny stuff and money. King Midas is a cliche, but what if it where the opposite? Sort of a reverse alchemy. Okay that’s too hard to pull off, but alchemy itself maybe?
And then go back to the original format. Changes a bit there and there, but it’s a guideline to both make it easier to write, and get a sense of structure and world connection.
