More Hulk!
Sam gets a nice one!
The Hulk is refusing the Leader, but his reasons have more to do with not needing help, and not really wanting to rule the world than thinking he's evil!
The Leader gives him a simple choice! The Hulk can just agree and then go back on it, but I don't know if he's going to lie so easily!
I'm really happy with this issue! There's still not enough going on, but this issue was close, with only a little time wasting! And the part where he saves Rick's life helps show his determination to help his friend! But it looked silly, and the art in this issue is a little worse I think, although I do like how Mike draws the Hulk! I'm giving it four stars, and I'm eager to see the next comic! This is also a much better cliffhanger than we usually get!
They go back to the base, and the army spots them and attack! This is where the equipment they need to keep Bruce as the Hulk is though, and if he turns back he'll die! So this is a threat to his life!
Rick, the Hulk surrendering isn't something they'll accept! I'd say you should leave and try to talk to them on his behalf, but Ross would ignore you too!
The Hulk accepts that he can't protect his life and the cave, so he's going to die either way!
The Hulk gives Rick CPR, but without touching lips because that would be gay!
Hulk seemed to be Bruce Banner in his mind before, but now he's acting like the Hulk usually does!! I think this means I'm right that they're really the same person!
Is he? Or is this just what Bruce Banner would act like if he was a strong, instead of a skinny nerd?
I guess the Hulk can fly now!
Hulk, please only say true things about the state of you and Doctor Banner, it's confusing enough to try to understand this without metaphors
That's a shock! Ross care's more about the real enemy than his pet project! And we learn the bomb didn't have any lingering radioactivity so we don't have to think about them nuking random nearby areas!
Next up! The title doesn't give me much to say!
These faces really don't feel like Kirby.
Oh, they're not! He did the layouts, but this is Mickey Demeo (Mike Esposito)! And Artie gets a nice one!
I'm proud I was able to recognize the change!
This is the first time we've done this, I think! Where the Hulk gets stronger as he gets angrier!
Why not just call him Bruce? Is he okay with being the Hulk?
Is he the Hulk, but just more clear-headed? More like he used to be?
This issue was really good! I love what they did with Bruce Banner being shot, I really like when there's a big shift like that, like with Iron Man that one time! I give it four stars!
The leader is boring though.
I always hate the villains who are like "I'm so smart I made a big strong guy for the hero to fight." What's even the point of them being smart if the Hulk just fights a really big guy? And then they can mass produce robots as strong as the hero, I just hate it!
Talbot, you have to learn when to shut up! You're basically responsible for Bruce's death, so to tell her that he sucks when she's mourning is shitty, and just going to make her hate you!
IT GETS WORSE!!! TALBOT YOU DICK!!! If he was supposed to be a romantic rival, he's doing a shitty job!!!! I don't think I'd ever forgive a guy who acted like that!!
Kirby's great, but I feel like that last panel is one I'd like to see from Ditko instead!
What????? And he was shot in the skull!????
OH SHIT I GET IT!!!! THAT'S WHY THEY KEPT SAYING HIS MIND WAS CLOUDED AS THE HULK!!!! SO THAT THEY COULD SAY UNCLOUDING IT MAKES HIM BRUCE BANNER!!!!
And if he ever turns back, he'll die!
It's back to the Hulk!
It wasn't clear last issue if he had really been shot, but now we know! Bruce Banner was shot!
Bruce's body disappears, and it's revealed that Rick stole it! He's planning to try to use the old gamma rays that used to turn him into the Hulk in the hope that it'll bring him back to life. Or at least, bring the Hulk back, even if Bruce is dead forever!
This is the coolest thing Rick's ever done!
I don't know if I'd see it if I hadn't heard about the twin's comic relationship, but that really looks like they're going to kiss!
Are they not getting the Hulk on the team? That's too bad! But maybe it's for the best! He's so much stronger than any of them that it might feel weird!
They probably should have seen the army in the area! But anyway, what did I think of this issue!
First off, Moleman wasn't that cool, and the way he lured them out was silly. But this comic wasn't about him, it was about the new team of Avengers! And I think it did a great job showing their personalities and relationships! I'm giving it four stars. It loses one because the story itself was a little weak, but it was still a good first issue!
I thought Pietro was about to say that Magneto talked about mutants, but instead, it was just an insult!!
Quicksilver being so invested in the Avenger's legacy is interesting! I don't think they've met before, so is he just a fan? Who's his favorite?
She can control how strong her hex is? I thought it was just random!
Is Moleman just unable to read the news, or is Quicksilver not well known? They've fought the X-Men in weird places, like an asteroid, so it might not be public knowledge that he's a mutant!
I'd like it if Wanda was doing more, but Don Heck keeps having her be involved in discussing plans, which makes her feel a lot less useless than she could!
And she does get to do something! Even better!
We really have come a long way from when the Invisible Girl was totally useless!
He's fast enough he's probably fine! There's no way you can get to him faster than he can get to you!
Less than one mile! They should be able to hear him!
Can we not have sentences like 'with the blind obedience of the sub-humans they are?" Thanks!
The title of this issue says minotaur, so Quicksilver, if it's just a minotaur, I'm gonna laugh at you!
Okay, this thing's weird! Pietro, you're fine!
I like what they're doing with Hawkeye, having him be the cocky idiot.
Exactly! They could have actually found the Hulk!
What does a'borning mean? Okay, it means while being born, and it's just aborning. Weird.
It's very lucky for Moleman that they're exactly where he wants them, when all they had to work off was "desert!"
I think the real point of this issue is just that everyone learns that Captain America should be in charge.
Before this though, the Avengers didn't have a single leader! They took turns! It's cool that things changed so much!
The new Avengers' first villain is the same as the Fantastic Four! And he sent a robot to both attack them, and to lure them into a trap by making them think it's where they'll find the Hulk!
There's just one problem!
All it says is that he's in the desert! First, that's true! He's always in the desert, and right now, he still is! And this isn't specific enough to take them anywhere!
Why????
