“Damon Salvatore’s girlfriend fed me her blood and snapped my kneck and now I’m head. Can you at least find something to cover that wound. I was gonna tell you but that’s pretty nasty and I only have so much self control.”

“Why am I not surprised that the Salvatores are involved.” Matt asked. He had never been the biggest fan of the brothers. He just got along with them for other people’s benefits. He nodded at her words and began to look for something to cover it. “I’m sorry.”

“And why exactly have you been rambling for the last three minutes, huh?” He said as he laid on bed and stared at the ceiling visibly unimpressed. “You want a captive audience?”  He said pointing out his broken ankle. “Because it’s quite unfair to mess with handicap people. You know?” He added as he looked into her eyes.

“Well, that could be done if you are not institutionalised first or maybe they sent you on a chase for a wild goose” He commented shrugging his shoulders. “That phrase could be great for an ad, but it makes you look unreliable, you know?”  He said as he took a therapeutic ball to start doing his recovery exercises.

“It is about making them pay. They have taken countless lives. Nobody there is innocent. Anyone who stood by and did nothing is to blame for all the blood on their hands.” Katniss said. She was beyond angry.  The death and bloodshed had gone on long enough.  It was time for it to come to an end once and for all.

“What are you even on about?” Katniss asked him with confusion in her tone. “I can’t even tell if you are with me or if you are against me.” She told him as he was not making a lot of sense.

“He’s your father if he looks after you and does all those things fathers do,” Marie said. “Not everyone sees it that way though. A parent is someone who takes care of you, looks after you, and teaches you things. That can be one person, two, three, or even more than that. Some people disagree though for their own reasons, and that’s okay.”

“I guess after a while you would learn to co-exist or blend in however you wanted,” she mused. “Depends on your preference and where you are. The time, circumstances, that sort of thing.”

“I guess I do, don’t I? Maybe I should try all sorts of things.”

“It has been a long time since my actual parents died.” Edward told her. While his adoptive family of vampires was great, it was not like they were completely replacing those he had lost. Edward had experienced a lot of loss in his life time.  After a while you grow the ability to numb yourself to it as it no longer matters. 

“I have grown used to blending in.” Edward told her. It was easier when you didn’t feed on human blood. The red eyes of those who did were a dead giveaway that they weren’t human.

“That would be wise.”

“I have heard of vampires Carolina.” Matt told her.  “I am more confused about when and how this happened.”

“Maybe it is my morbid curiosity what makes me want to help you, but here we go” He said as he walked to lock the door because what they were going to discuss there was extremely important. They needed privacy. 

“You can blab all day about promises of revenge…” He stated. “Or you can shout your mouth and start thinking how to do it” He stated. “Take this as hunting” He tried to give him a better example. “You don’t go yelling in the woods that you are going to hunt animals, do you?”  He asked. “I assume that you go quiet and stealth looking for a chance to attack”  Jason added. “Basically this is the same thing”

“There are two kind of crazy people. The crazy fun kind that we all find entertaining and harmless”  He said and looked into his shoulders. “Then, there is the crazy kind of  people who have gone through a traumatic experience. That kind of people usually have a lots of eyes on them because they think they are going to harm themselves or others…” He made a pause hoping she followed his lead.

“So, what kind are you going to be girl on fire?” He finally stated. 

“I don’t need your help.” Katniss said. She felt like she didn’t need anyone. Every she had ever cared about had let her down or betrayed her. People were liars. People only cared about their own bad interest. That was never going to change. If Katniss wanted something done then she needed to do it herself.

“I want them to be scared. I want them to know I am coming and not be able to stop it.” Katniss said. She was a woman on a mission. She was dangerous. She would get her revenge. It may take years but she was going to take them all down. The games were over but there was still damage to the system to be done.

“I am the girl on fire, and I will burn it all to the ground.”

ALICE WATCHED HIM HIT THE TOSSED BALL AND LET Em and Ed fight it out while the kill ran, although not that she competed, but the vampire had let the blossoming love expand for her like a force field, a means of bewildering the Major’s gift as she ran towards him, throwing her arms around his shoulders and kissing his cheek. “ Tell me love, what makes you believe you can beat the biggest cheaters? And I don’t mean me, but Ed and Carlisle? “  Asked in a husky laugh as she kissed his cheek again, trying to distract him.

“I see you are playing dirty. You’re the biggest cheater of them all, Alice.” Jasper told her. It wasn’t hard to see she was trying to distract him. Worst of all though she that she was doing hell of a good job. “Am I the only honest one in this whole supposed family?”

“A lot of people do,” Marie replied. “And when you’re in unfamiliar territory, it’s probably the best course of action. I live in a supernatural community, and we’ve learned to all coexist most days. Of course there are some times when you have to just stay out of someone’s way.” She grinned.

“She is,” she went on. “She loves science anyway, and she likes the idea of helping people. More so when people actually listen to how things work. When someone’s at least 200 years old, they’re more likely to have the patience to listen to the particulars-most days.”

“Maybe one day I’ll find out too. I’m not going to rush it, though. Honestly, I’m pretty happy with my life now.”

“I’ve learned to co-exist in my own ways.” Edward stated. He had been alive for over 100 years. He had figured out what worked for him. So far it seemed to be just fine. 

“My father is a doctor. The man who pretends to be my father is anyway. My actual father is long dead.” Edward said. He could admire vampires who wanted to help humans. Personally he just didn’t want to kill them.

“You’ve got time to figure it out. All the time in the world.”

“Who said I was? I was just telling how it was for me, and trying to be encouraging. If it didn’t work, I’m sorry. “ There were a lot of things she didn’t know, and she supposed some things really bothered people-that being one of them. But she didn’t understand why some people held onto hurt for so long that they became bitter, either. Marie, however, was still quite young and didn’t understand a lot of things.

“I don’t know you. I didn’t ask for you to come here and solve my problems. I’ve been around a lot longer than you have.”  Rosalie stated. She’d just been extra pissed off at the world since Edward had cheated the system and managed to produce a child despite it supposed to be impossible. “So mind your own business and don’t give advice that wasn’t asked for.”

“Be careful. People usually think you are emotionally compromised..that’s a pretty way to say insane…if you are talking about unaliveing people. You know?” Jason said as he looked for his lighter in his jacket.

“I don’t care what they think of me.” Katniss stated. “They are all going to pay for what they did to my sister. Every last one of them.” She added. She wasn’t thinking straight. Not since seeing her sister die before her very eyes.
