final part 3
The Other Place
I chose to paint the OP because I have made a bunch of memories with my friends there and it is our favorite bar. I am going to miss it a lot.

Final part 2
Challenge Yourself
I decided to write “challenge yourself” on the trail because I wanted to help motivate people on the trail who are exercising on the trail.
final part 1
stick heart
My favorite shape is a heart and I wanted to make one out of sticks inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. I wanted to spread love with my stick art for everyone to see as they walk on the trail.
My friend Bhavi posed for my project! I chose multiple different colors to represent all the amazing qualities and traits she exerts! Yellow and orange represent how fun and happy she always is! Purple to show how charismatic and supportive she is. & blues to represent how empathetic and idealistic she is.
For my Earth Art, I chose to make a circle of rocks around some flowers because I thought it represented the circle of life. The circle has been depicted since the beginning of time mostly as a symbol of unity, harmony, and wholeness. One popular circle symbol that comes to mind is the Yin Yang symbol which represents the balance of light and dark in Chinese culture. A circle is also a symbol of eternity because it is never ending line, which is why wedding rings have become a symbol of marriage or the eternal bond between two people. In addition to unity and eternity, circles can also represent a lot of astronomical elements like the sun, moon, and planets.
This is my pupped named Cass! She just loves to dance. 💃🕺She enjoys listening to Maroon 5, hence her song choice. Cass also likes to chill at the pool with her friends which is why she had me film her there.
My puppets name is Bashar Jackson AKA Pop Smoke an American rapper. He enjoys going to the OP and dancing while having a nice cold beverage. He is dancing to one of his hits Dior. RIP Pop Smoke.
NYC
I went over to the trail by my favorite little water spot. I love the sound of the stream here, it is so calming and brings me hope.
I wrote the phrase "We'll be fine", because it is always nice to hear some reassurance, especially around this time of year when we are all scrambling to complete projects, presentations, and exams.
I wish for everyone to keep in mind that we'll be fine in the end!
My Keith Haring inspired chalk drawing was a person holding up a heart.
I chose to make a circle out of leaves on the river trail. I like the circle because it represents totality and completeness. The ancient egyptians were one of the first civilizations to use circles to represent completeness. The Romans used circles to represent eternity of time without beginning or end.
I chose to do my silhouette in my driveway and I used a stick to trace the outline of my body. I couldn’t find much around to put into the outline so I decided to use sticks to add hair to the silhouette.
I decided to recreate the third piece because I really liked how it looked like scribbles but when you look at it you can start to see objects in the piece. I recreated some of the shapes Eva Hesse used but I also did some of my own to add my twist on it.
For my arte povera project, I decided to paint a bottle that I found outside of my house. I thought that picking up trash outside and turning it into something cute is a good representation of the arte provera movement. I decided to paint some flowers on the bottle and I chose colors that I thought would go well with the colors of the bottle.
I chose my roommate Olivia as my model and inspiration for this pop art assignment. She is so shamelessly herself and it makes her even more beautiful than just her appearance shows.
Her advice for staying confident for the next generation who sees ridiculous beauty standards on social media is to recognize and remember that a lot of those people edit their photos or get surgeries to look the way they do. People also use angles and only show the good photos on instagram. Being real is the most beautiful thing!
Rebelling against beauty standards is a part of Olivia’s life because she doesn’t edit her photos and she chooses to not care what other people think.
Olivia is inspired to love herself and break free from societal boxes by Selena Gomez. Selena has been experiencing hate on social media due to her body image and she continues to spread kindness and support women.
The celebrity photoshop fail moment I chose was Kendall Jenner editing her body in a photo she posted. I chose this photo becaus it shows that even famous models don’t always have the bodies we think they do. People noticed the bending of the stairs in the background of the photo. I decided to make the bend a bit more obvious in the painting to show the photoshop fail better.
For my collage, I focused on quotes, sayings, and traits that I think reflected my personality. For most of my life, I have been a people pleaser and commonly put others before myself. Today, I find myself being a little more selfish and putting my energy into my own happiness. Most of my identity comes from my family, who taught me the importance of independence and never relying on someone else. My dad has always taught me that it's okay to be sensitive, which is why I added "love your heart" and "light-hearted". I also chose quotes to remind me of the bigger picture in life, like "it's your heart that takes you places" and that "every stage of life comes with new hopes and dreams.". I also incorporated different things I love, like Netflix, chilled wine, and flowers.
I reblogged this collage because it is super cute and inspirational! I loved all of the quotes and it made me feel happy and hopeful.
Week 3: Finding Your Art Voice - Examining Your Roots
For my collage, I focused on pastel colors and imagery/words that represented me. I really appreciate minimalistic imagery and light colors (cottage-core vibes). This aesthetic is very feminine and is something I implement into not only my art, but other aspects of my life as well. I added a clip that says “2001”, which is my birth year. Makeup and products for wellbeing are targeted towards people like me, which I included. I also included lots of nature imagery since I am an Environmental Studies major. I couldn’t find an exact image of a person I resonated with in my magazines, so I decided to spell out my name using magazine clippings. Overall, I would say my collage is very representative of me. 💌🌱
I reblogged this collage because I think it’s super cute. I love the color choices and the aesthetic of the piece.
