I don't want to shit all over a post that has extremely good intentions and has very good analysis, but positing that fandom lesbians have a special kind of pornsickness because "fandom is slash and we all masturbate to men having sex with other men and it poisons our lesbian sexuality" is like. Well that's the experience of a specific group of lesbians. Some of us have pretty much only ever cared about female characters in fiction and Idk I feel like it's almost an example of further male-centeredness to assume that all lesbians are equally subject to this male obsession. Like you can't even imagine a fandom lesbian that ships women together, you only imagine a fandom lesbian that wants to see Dean and Cas dock their penises.

My personal progression in fandom started with het ships, because I projected myself onto male characters and used them to fantasize about the female characters that attracted me. I invented male love interests for female characters so I could act out worshipful desire for a woman. When I discovered femslash or f/f or whatever as a mid-teen I just never went back. And, candidly, if you go into the tags for certain kinds of women and female characters here on Tumblr or even on places like Xitter, you will find HORDES of women frothing for fictional female characters and for female actors. This isn't to suggest there's no pornsick elements of how they express that desire, there often are, but I don't think that the gal writing xReader fic about getting fucked with a strap by a 76-year-old Broadway diva calling it "mommy's dick" is like... in the same category as a lesbian who is totally subsumed into and lives through slash culture and m/m fiction.

yes, for most of their careers blackpink didn’t write anything, barely have any songs in their discography while they mostly modeled, and often times a particular member was lazy on stage but they are still the most popular female kpop group in the world, while bts are the most popular male group, so it makes sense that bts members would attend their show.

how is it that some of the most famous kpop girl groups' members can have barely 3,000-4,000 fanfics for each member on ao3, and a lot of them still include male idols. they can't even write lesbian fanfics male free. with twice's sana i think i saw the most at 6,000 fanfics. at the same time gay male ships in kpop from popular boy groups can get into the 20,000s or even more range. it seems like kpop is for straight girls primarily. with how many of those "lesbian/bi flag in bio, self-identified queer" fangirls that shout "lesbians love jungkook" you see on social media, you would think there would be more lesbian fanfiction but alas. there is also the possibility that lesbians and actual bi women are more likely to feel uncomfortable writing sexual situations about real women than male attracted fangirls are about men maybe? maybe that's another reason? still it's possible to write it tastefully and imply rather than going into graphic detail but i guess it is better to write about completely fictional characters overall. it still feels like people are exaggerating on social media though, and a lot of these queer fangirls are just bihets or heterosexuals

i think the only way we'll get an ot4 mamamoo comeback is if moonsun leave rbw with rights to the "mamamoo" name, and then they could release something under wheein's company or another company. rbw is not going to facilitate it, or even if they did agree to it, the promotions will be dismal with a lack of english language posts as well. rbw will do the bare minimum. it's time for the girls to use their own connections in the industry. also the o4 comeback won't happen earlier than 2027, when moonsun's contract with rbw will expire

realistically the bi ppl in k-pop are going to end up in het relationships and marriages anyway. even in countries with more lgbt acceptance like the US, 90-95% of bi people are in het relationships. so why don't more korean celebs come out as bi? is the intolerance that severe in asia that they wouldn't even accept half-homosexuality? or would they accuse those celebs of TMI? it would just be nice to have representation.

there are more idols nowadays that speak out openly in support of gay people and lgbt issues but that's different than having someone be openly lgbt. plus kpop is targeting the western market and international markets more and more, and there celebs come out pretty often as bi. also some of the most dedicated kpop fans/stans are lgbt fans afterall. i'm sure those k-pop companies' market research shows this, and that's why so many groups include fan service in their performances or music videos

it’s so funny. chinese namjin fans think everything is back to normal, and namjin will be back to being the parents of bts, while english speaking namjin fans are mostly saying they’re divorced but being civil for the kids. realistically i think it’s because they just haven’t hung out together in person for so long. they need time to get used to each other again, or maybe it’s not only hanging out together but hanging out in public with cameras and fans’ eyes being on them that they need to get used to. it’s either they’ve decided to stay just friends over the years, or they’re being more restrained in public because otherwise it wouldn’t be just a friendly interaction.

they must know fans ship and speculate about all the members. all i know is that it will take a while for them to get back to exactly the way things were before enlistment, or maybe the dynamic will change. it’ll be interesting to see, and it’ll be interesting if shippers’ speculations are right, and they actually broke up during military service. they had never been away from each other before for that long, and namjoon kinda isolated himself from the bts members and went on his own journey of self-discovery. a relationship doesn’t necessarily survive stuff like that but at the same time they’re grown and professional enough to still be part of the team, even if they are divorced lol

well something happened that made rbw completely irredeemable in my eyes. the nft and crypto stuff was one thing but now they are basically digitally pimping out their female artists. they wanted to make it so male fans could make their "favorite" female idols be in more sexually revealing outfits and say more sexually provocative things without the idols' consent. i guess rbw sold their likeness to this app, and it is disturbing af. i know that back in the day female idols from smaller companies were forced to "have dinner" with potential male investors to woo them and get them to sponsor their music promotions, so i guess this is the 21st century version of that. female groups in kpop seem to be targeted towards straight male fans, while the in the west it's usually women and gay guys that are fans of girl groups. i hope kpop companies finally realize that female fans is where the longevity is actually at for a group but RBW is so terrible at management, that they've made the remaining mamamoo members actually lose fans over the years. the company doesn't put in effort to promote their solo projects or to make their content more accessible to international fans, so a lot of fans have given up on following mamamoo. i really hope moonsun will finally leave rbw and will join wheein's company instead
