I shouldn't rant about life, but I have a cold. Again, I have a cold at the beginning of a school vacation. I think I got it from one of my students, who has "special needs", who can't manage to cover their face when they cough. I don't have the motivation right now to go out and do anything b/c I'm afraid of making my cold worse, which I had managed to do back in April (I had to take 2 sicks day off of school and returned with a very bad voice). I'm having those thoughts that I have every year, right before Xmas, on why do I bother to buy things for my Dad's family. They're rich, they can buy whatever want for their kids, whenever they want to. Their son attends a rich fancy preschool. They go to Oahu and Disneyland every year as part of their kids' bday celebrations, and they usually take a ski trip or a trip to Jamaica every year. I only visit their house every couple weeks for dinner, so I don't spend a lot of time with them. If I don't know what to buy them, then that means I really don't know them....Thus I have no place in buying them anything. This is not how I wanted to start winter vacation.

I implemented a new classroom management policy/technique for my crazy class and one of the students compared me to a dean. Mwah hahah....a little bit a least. If I stay strong and consistent, this policy should work...I'm basically holding students personally accountable for their behavior.
