((ngl, this page broke my heart, but reading Nico say 'Howdy' makes me think of cowboys, which forces me to make crap like this.
Nico. Nico is the best cowboy.))
I’m just…
[What was he asking? He didn’t want Nico to get hurt, which would surely happen if Tamiya managed to lure him away from Zera’s side. But, at the same time, he wanted Nico to come with him and escape the new, twisted Hikari Club and go back to the old ways of playing chess and just… hanging around with friends. His scowl fell into an accepting frown. By even suggesting this, he was putting Nico in danger. Just like he had with Dafu…
Tamiya loosened his grip, breaking the eye contact he previously demanded in favor of studying his shoes, momentarily lost in thought. He couldn’t handle the idea of having to slaughter another friend; especially one he’d known and cared about for so long. With a final sigh - something he seemed to be doing much more frequently since acknowledging Zera as Emperor - Tamiya shook his head, eyes trailing up to re-meet Nico’s own.]
I’m just saying you should watch out for Zera. Nobody- I don’t want to see you get hurt, got it?
[Forcing a smile, Tamiya removed a hand from it’s perch and playfully flicked Nico’s nose.]
As the first leader of the Hikari Club, I’m ordering you not to get hurt, understand?
Ah…it looked as though his words actually got through to that thick skull. Nether one of them was keen on the idea of execution and Zera was not one to show mercy so easily. The self proclaimed emperor was even more harsh now than in previous years. Surely, any action that could be deemed a treason would earn them nothing more than a slow, painful death. The strong grip loosened, Tamiya refusing to meet his eye this time. It seemed the tables had turned and now the original leader of the Hikari Club was left with very few things to say. Nico knew he should have walked away, just turned and kept going, but for some reason he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Instead he stared at the other, eyebrow raising when their gazes met once again. “You…” And now the speechlessness was back to him, a hand raising to cover the bottom half of his face whilst he collected his thoughts. However those were interrupted with a light flick of his nose, Nico making a soft noise of surprise. The familiar flush of his cheeks that he knew so well after first becoming acquainted with Tamiya began to heat his face. “I understand…I’ll…try to be careful. Alright?”
[Tamiya's smile widens into a genuine grin as Nico's face flushes. It reminds him of back when they were still small and could easily call each other best friends. Back when Kaneda and Dafu constantly objected to having the quiet boy hang out with them.]
Hey, hey! I'm giving you an order, not making a request.
[He refrains from tapping Nico on the nose once more, instead opting to lean in, eye slightly narrowed as he attempted to force himself to sound intimidating and authoritative, despite honestly being neither.]
So, do you accept my demand, or am I gonna have to take you hostage until you do?
[Dafu, Kaneda and himself used to play this game all the time as children. Of course, he and Dafu would always have their thinner, more delicate friend play the desperate hostage while the other two would pretend to do battle in order to rescue him. Sure, Tamiya didn't have anyone to play the dashing hero ready to save Nico, but that was fine with him. In fact, knowing Nico, he'd probably wind up being the one who saved himself and rode off into the sunset.
It suited him. So independent and tough that Tamiya often wondered if he was truly needed, anymore.]
Consequences?
[Tamiya’s other hand soon latches onto Nico’s open shoulder, the taller teen trying his best not to shake his friend. It’s ridiculous. Why does Nico care so much even after everything Zera did? Why does he keep supporting the usurper despite taking his goddamn eye from him?! Tamiya takes a shaking breath; he’s not jealous. He’s not. He never cared about being the leader of the Hikari Club, he just wanted to have fun with his pals. He doesn’t want any of this insane loyalty that only Nico can give - he just wants his friend to smile for him, again.]
Consequences… That isn’t the kind of thing the Hikari Club forces on people.
[He scowls, fingers tightening in Nico’s shoulders the longer the other boy refuses to look at him.]
Look at me, Nico! Dammit, this is really starting to piss me off…!
Another hand landed on his shoulder, gripping him tighter the longer their conversation dragged on. It didn’t hurt, the action was more surprising than anything. Tamiya, who was normally so calm and collected about everything began to lose his cool. This was a sight Nico never thought he would see in a million years. Slowly, his eye moved back to face the other dead on. “There, I’m looking at you.” He’d given up so much, climbed the ladder slowly to gain Zera’s trust—or so he thought—and here he was, at risk of losing it all. Nico didn’t want that, he also didn’t want Tamiya to get ahead of himself. Usually one to follow the commandments without a second thought, he realized that maybe he’d been breaking one all along. ‘I shall have no desire for love or affection. As such, friendships and relationships are intolerable.’ The words recited in his head, the shorter middle schooler trying to keep his own emotions in check. Hikari Club was his life; Zera was his life, yet at the same time Tamiya was honestly still his only friend. “And what do you want me to do about it? Even if I wanted to, we can’t escape. You remember what we did to Hamasato, don’t you? It’ll be us next if we act on what you’re proposing!” Nico’s fists were shaking, nails digging into his palms. He didn’t know what to think anymore.
I'm just...

[Tamiya sighs, scratching the back of his neck as he allows himself a moment to think. He hates everything Zera makes them - both of them - do. He hates the apparently justified murder; the kidnapping and starvation of innocent girls. But simply telling Nico, someone as dedicated and loyal as Nico, about his feelings surely wouldn’t be enough to convince him to leave the club.]
Stop it, Nico.
[He reaches out, grasping one of his friend’s shoulders and looking him dead in the eye.]
‘Save the world’? Zera’s not saving anything and you know it. Open your eyes, already.
For a moment he thought he’d maybe won the argument against Tamiya, no such luck. Hands clenched at his sides, eye glancing away from the boy holding him in place, he had no choice but to listen to what he had to say. As much as he wanted to trust him, Nico couldn’t bring himself to believe his words. Zera had helped him so much…allowed him to stay in the club and for once in his life have a say. On the other hand, Tamiya was the one who brought Nico to the club in the first place, despite Dafu and Kaneda’s protests. He wasn’t deaf, he could hear some of the things they said about him without even trying to get to know him. But Tamiya was the one to reach out to him, the one who invited him to join them. “Zera is…only looking out for us, he does what he thinks is best. As Eins I must obey him or face the consequences.” Some kind of internal war was playing out inside of Nico, it was obvious from how his demeanor changed so suddenly.
Consequences?

paintedhikari replied to your post: When are you gonna figure out Zera’s just using you, Nico?!
Take matters into your own hands? Can you even hear how crazy you sound, anymore?
“Crazy…? Is that what you think? I see the world for what it really is now, please don’t allow yourself to become one of the people we’re trying to save it from.”

Try smiling once in a while!
Yo, you wanna play chess?! >;3
Huh? Sure, I guess. Just don't get upset when I beat you, okay?
who was your first kiss?
E-eh?!
What kind of question is that, anon?!
((headcanon wise, this mun likes to think Tamiya's first kiss was with one of his pals. Not in a really romantic sense, but more of a 'hey, wanna try kissing?' kind of way.))
[He twitches, biting his tongue to keep himself from giving the bespecled teen a piece of his mind. Instead, Tamiya nods, awkward and embarrassed.]
…Sorry, Zera. It’s good to see you.
Once the disobedience settled down, and Tamiya refrained from feeding the...
[The teen gritted his teeth as his self-declared Emperor circled him like he was little more than a piece of meat. It would be easy enough to lash out; to simply knock the slimmer, more delicate boy on his ass and wipe that look of unquestionable superiority off his face. But in doing so, Tamiya knew he'd put not only himself, but his friends in the way of their leader's wrath. So, he simply remained still, hands clenching int trembling fists as he fought off the urge to use his height to his advantage and forcefully re-take the Hikari Club for himself.]
Required...?
[His voice trailed off, eyes closing for a brief moment. Of course there would be an order. There was always an order; one Tamiya had to follow for the good of the club. Swallowing the sudden lump in his throat and burying the faint sense of dread in his stomach, Tamiya nodded, eyes finally meeting his leader's own.]
Yes, sir.
[He could only hope it wouldn't be anything too horrible. Tamiya didn't think he could stand murdering another human being, even if it was, apparently, for the best.]
What do you need?
((Sudden tense change because I am fail!))
Holy crap! You guys just keep on coming! I'm starting to feel like one of those stupid idol guys!
WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?
Hm... The bay, I guess. It's not the nicest place, but I've got some good memories there. Real good ones.
Hey, thanks for the follow. I'll do my best!
What?
You again, huh?
You? “My, seems you’ve lost knowledge of the Hikari Club’s jargon; its terminology. I have a title; one you should be very familiar with. Sechs, Tamiya, how about rewarding me with a more pleasing introduction?” In other words, start over.
[He twitches, biting his tongue to keep himself from giving the bespecled teen a piece of his mind. Instead, Tamiya nods, awkward and embarrassed.]
...Sorry, Zera. It's good to see you.
