Welcome to Painted Wings! A story I’ve been working on with Dragons, finding your identity, Potions, Trans people and Unicorns!

I’m Okapi (She/They/Fae)! I am not yet old enough to vote in the US, so please try and avoid 18+ stuff if you’re going to interact with me directly.

The plan is for there to be polls you can vote in that will decide things about the world or story! Think like, naming a town or deciding what a character should say.

There isn’t a set date for the story to start, but I’m going to post a few world-building things soon! Feel free to ask questions!

-So! We aren't going to find a critter by just sitting around, no no!-

-We're here at The Heart Tree Stump Stage!-

-Gallica is northeast of us at The Unicorn Bush!-

-And we have already checked east along the river-

Peppercorn steps into a clearing

Nestled between large bushes was The Heart Tree Stump Stage

One of the Stellae teens had found the stump a few years back. and enlisted the other teens help in making the place a mini theater

They cleared the debris and moved a bunch of stones in to act as seats.

Behind the stump is a maze of bushes that they use as a backstage and green rooms

This year, Peppercorn is playing the villain in the show their doing.

Exciting stuff!

The two go their separate ways to continue searching.

Peppercorn makes faer way through the trees.

-We will find this critter in no time!-

Fae have returned to talking at the fairyfly lantern hanging from their belt.

-Besides, Gallica's right! We still have 5 days!-

-I should probably think of how I want to do the prank bit-

-Hmm-

Peppercorn hops over a fallen tree, tapping faer chin.

-Oo!-

-I could hide little evidence of the critter around her home!-

-That way, it confuses her AND can make the critter more comfortable when it moves in-

A breeze brushes past their legs, purring

-...-

-Hm-

-Must have been nothing-

Their search goes on for 10 minutes…

Which turns to 30 minutes…

Then an hour…

Then 2…

Gallica forces them to pause once they pass the 3 hour mark

-Nothing. We’ve got nothing.-

It’s only been a day!

Peppercorn doesn’t answer. Instead, fae burry their face into faer hands, and make a noise

-Mmgh-

Peppercorn sits up

-What about those baby birds? They were cute!-

We can’t just steal a baby from its mother.

-Hmmph-

Gallica finishes eating her sandwich. She nudges Peppercorn, who grumpily shoves theirs into faer face.

-… It will probably be faster if we split up. Cover more ground.-

Are you sure? I’m fine with-

-I’m sure. We have to find something before the festival starts-

Gallica watches faer for a minute

She sighs, and begins cleaning up.

Ok. I can check around the unicorn bush and closer to town.

Peppercorn nods

I’ll check:

The next morning…

(6 days remain)

Papa Colletes sleeps on the table

He probably should be sleeping on a bed, but every time Peppercorn pokes him about it, he always insists he’s just finishing his projects

His neck and back will be killing him when he wakes up

-I’ll be back before dinner, don’t worry about me, blah blah blah, bye Papa!-

Peppercorn scurries off

Gallica hummed, thinking

Ok, I have two potential ideas

Burnet enjoys adventure, so we could make her a scavenger hunt- obstacle corse

-Is that a prank?-

I dunno, your the prank master here

The other idea is we find her a weird critter

-A critter? Why?-

I’ve seen her coo at the Stellae’s baby banshees. She loves tiny weird things.

Don’t- don’t tell her I told you though

Peppercorn notes this information away for later

-So we have three potential pranks: Spears, Adventure, and Critter-

So which one are we doing prank master?

-Wh- you’re the Burnet expert!-

It’s your prank!

-It’s your sister!-

The two look at each other for a moment, before launching into a silent game of Dragon-Sphinx-Unicorn

Shoot, Dragon beats Sphinx

-hmph, fine, I’ll choose-

To prank Burnet, we will:

Double her Spears every day for a week

Make a Scavenger/ Obstacle hunt course

Find her a critter

Peppercorn loves these things

They remind them of home. Home before Shimmervale.

Gallica’s probably the nicest person in town. Maybe even the whole world is Peppercorn had anything to say about it.

Peppercorns really glad she lets them be her friend. That fae gets to talk about buildings with her. That the two of them get to dream of moving to the capital to build things together.
