Days like today are the reason why I do what I do. Why I put up with long days, and four hour sleep nights. I love this. Light is shining thru the studio windows, and I can barely hear Vance Joy playing over the sound of laughter, and Peanut-butter-n-belly-time … I am surrounded by beautiful handmade things, and the air is laced with smells of clay dust, paint, and glaze. It is times like these where I close my eyes, take a deep breath and breathe it all in. I want to etch this into my memory. These moments… they are so fleeting. Blink and they are gone. Look away and you miss them. There are days when all I want to do is sleep, or run. Days when I feel the weight of the world closing in on me, suffocating me with bills, and debt, and dreams, and regrets, and chaos, and disappointment. I don’t though, because of days like this.  Now, when I find myself suffocating because endless days, sleepless nights, bills, debt, and regrets, and when these things threaten to snuff out my dreams, I close my eyes and I see light shining thru the studio windows, Vance Joy drowned out by sounds of laughter, and I remember how clay dust, paint, and glaze smells like. Then I take a deep breath and I just be.
