she’d been a resident of a lot of sleepy little towns in her day. however, none quite could compare to purgatory. something she couldn’t quite put her finger on, yet it wasn’t enough to push her away. if anything it made her curious, intrigued her. she wanted to know more about the snippets of stories she’d overheard when sitting in shorty’s on weekend afternoons, much like she was right now. this town, and specifically this bar, were home to some certainly… interesting types. amanda was quiet, watching, learning in her own way. only a few people had made a point to speak to her since she moved in and started her job, one of them being the redheaded officer. they hadn’t had many meetings, but the ones they did have had been enjoyable to say the least. amanda enjoyed haught’s company. mandy smiles when nicole walks in, her best kind, inviting smile. “how’s it goin’, officer?” she smirks, patting the countertop next to her in an attempt to get nicole to join her. “forgive me for forgetting but –– how do you like your coffee again?”

a bold woman in extravagant clothing, the crimson-clad woman looked out of place the second she entered the book store; this, however, is something that she could care less about. gloved hands rest atop the front counter, waiting for the younger brunette to face her before she speaks, “art books, do you carry these?”

⇸ it’s not an uncommon request, but the accent in which it’s spoken is what really makes the tiny brunette turn around. raising one eyebrow at the extremely foreign sound, she takes a minute to let the words and what they mean sink in. art books, of course. another reminder, she thinks, sighing outwardly and nodding her head. fingers push back short brown strands out of her eyes. “uh... yeah, ‘course. . just this way,” amanda mutters, stepping awkwardly around the lady to lead her off into the proper area of the store.
