Undertale theory
my theory on sans is that he and his brother hail from the void, which exists on Toby Fox's computer, and every time they appear in one of his works it's because they traveled there. That's why Sans was able to make a post on Twitter. It's also why Papyrus knows about the "up" key and that you need to press it to jump. It's why sans gives the error handling message at the end of the "dirty hacker" neutral route. He and his bro hail from outside the game, and know of the developer.
It can also explain their unique abilities: they had to code their abilities when they entered Undertale to prevent errors, which also allowed them to give themselves whatever abilities they wanted and knew how to code. Papyrus actually had a powerful special attack, but Toby Fox thought is would be to hard, and replaced it with the annoying dog thing. Sans had originally made all his attacks unavoidable, like the bone attack when you spare him, but Toby Fox didn't want that so he altered them so that the player would actually be capable of winning. when you kill papyrus, Sans doesn't show up until the end because he's trying to undo Toby's alterations, but can't because the game has already been exported.
Gaster also originates from the void, but he was never finished. If he ends up appearing in Delta Rune, then it would be because Toby finally got around to finishing him.
but who knows, maybe I'm wrong.
Man, it's a shame you won't be continuing this, I really liked it! It's still a formidable effort, though, not many AUs ever got out of the Ruins.
Yeah, unfortunately I wasn't really sure where I was going with this, and started losing interest in Undertale. There's also the unfortunate timing of me starting the comic just before Deltarune's release. And then there's how I started getting into SCP, and later RCP, which divided my creative attention.
I’m sorry I won’t be continuing to update this sprite comic. If anyone’s interested in continuing this AU, let me know.

I’m sorry, but I won’t be continuing this webcomic. I’ve kind of moved on from the Undertale fandom.

Since the spider bake sale is replaced by a bunny one, does that mean Muffet and the shopkeeper bunny swap with each other?
Yep, that's the name of the game. Switches occur in pairs.
Why do you choose to upload the images directly onto Tumblr instead of using an image hosting site like Imgur, like most of the Undertale AU comic uses? That way, you could upload more images than the image count Tumblr limits you to. Overall, it'd just be way more efficient than your current setup.
Because it's more convenient than making an account on some other site and posting links to it. More convenient for me, and more convenient for readers as well, as they can just read the comic straight from Tumblr instead of jumping back and forth between two sites.
Fun fact: I didn’t feel like animating echo’s laugh, so I just opened a hacked version of the undertale demo in gamemaker 8.1, replaced flowey’s sprites with the ones I made for Echo, used a screen recorder and debug mode to capture the modified in-game footage, converted that footage into a gif, then went in and removed the recording icon in GIMP. WAY easier!

Apparently when you edit a post made with the mobile app, it screws up the formatting, making the pictures all in a straight line. Fortunately, I was able to fix it by editing it again in the mobile app.

I like this AU though i can't help but have the feeling the characters sometimes act a bit too much like the character they take the role of
Yeah, I run into this problem a lot, especially with Echo. The character replacing Flowey doesn't have as big a role, making it harder to get a good feel of their personality.
When writing these characters in general, I try to take a "nature vs nurture" approach, plotting out how their personality would be altered by their different experiences and roles. For instance, Sans is more depressed due to being separated from Papyrus, while Alphys is more confident due to never creating the amalgamates.
At the same time, they are still at their core the same characters; Alphys is still an anime obsessed dork who likes to invent things, while Sans is still a pun-loving lazybones. It's difficult to get the right balance between how much of their personality is because of their environment, and how much is because of who they are.
Goodbye, Alphys.
