What does your gf think about that???. Does she agree with you.?
hello, fellow kids, this is the girlfriend : hate socks in bed. sometimes when i want to antagonise š her i like to wear socks in bed and iām told to take them off. hope this clarifies things š
Sounds like a good house rule š
heavilyyyy enforced by me
Do you like to sleep with your socks on or off?
strictly a socks off household
Howās work been?
same old same old, i am applying for another secondment (š¤) for before i go. otherwise we have lots of bills and things being passed recently so itās all fairly busy!
idk if this is personal but do you plan to go abroad by yourself or with your gf?
sheās coming!!
i don't want to interrupt the discussion about places to live, but i really miss your writing. š„¹ are we getting a new chapter anytime soon? š
good luck with finding the right place! and hey, if it doesn't feel right, you can always change your mind later. :))
personally, i really like manchester and liverpool.
thank you!ā£ļø you are correct of course. i think part of what contributes to my anxiety around choosing the wrong place is i am very nervy about not being able to find a job! and that overshadows a lot of the excitement
i am plugging away! i just work better when i have long stretches of time to write and i donāt have that so much any more (which is nice overall, of course, but a bit of a bummer in this regard). promise there are still things being written :) <3
happy vivi day šš«¶š«¶š«¶
yes defo prefer liverpool to manchester but that maybe because i know it better, i feel like manchester doesnāt offer that much more but is definitely more spread out, i moved here from the literal middle of nowhere so i like that everything is close by
also the dismissal of birmingham is so valid btw!!
hmmmmmm okay
iām not all that clued into uk ~culture~ but even i know birmingham should not be on the cards
you are so welcome for the liverpool info, I am happy to answer any questions, have also visited manchester a fair bit!
ooo. do you like liverpool more than manchester?
liverpool wasnāt really on my radar however i am happy to soak up all information like a sponge
my main concern is that i donāt know if i will want to move to a city considerably smaller than i where i live now. granted, that means itās london or bust really. and im certainly not doing birmingham. but i feel like manchester is bigger and bustling at least?
liverpool is actually such a good shout itās such a cute city
okay okay twist my arm
I live in Scotland but donāt live in a cities just live in between Glasgow and Edinburgh. One thing I would say is that a lot of people say that Glasgow is to live in and Edinburgh is for a nice day out. Which I do kind of agree with.
The best part of Glasgow to live in would be the West End. It is more expensive but it is much nicer than the rest of the city šš
Glasgow weather is also not great probably worst out of all your placesā¦
For me I reckon Manchester would be your best shout. Especially as a woso fan because living in Scotland and following the Wsl makes it so hard and sometimes expensive to go see a game. Also if you were in Manchester itās not that far from any of the places youāve mentioned.
okay okay noted
i totally got that vibe from edinburgh but goddddd itās just so lovely. perhaps thatās because it was miraculously sunny for the three days i was there
i do definitely think manchester is a good option. i have this weird gut feeling i will regret not just going big and doing london, and simultaneously i have a gut feeling itās too giant and overwhelming and scary and expensive. scarred from how much money i have spent visiting for handfuls of days at a time
iāve only been to glasgow once so might not be fair to judge this harshly but i really didnāt like it (hence why i didnāt return) maybe was in the wrong parts but i found it to be quite a rough city and i got there early on a saturday morning and it had been basically ransacked by people who went out the night before⦠tons of sick on the floor in the streets & stuff, so not sure if thatās the norm or the drinking culture there is just massive but it put me off
yeah glasgow isnt really properly on the list i donāt think (not necessarily for this reason really), i still think i would pick edinburgh if i choose scotland
also never been to glasgow
LIVERPOOL!!
moved here two years ago and itās got everything you could need honestly and all close by, lovely architecture, sunsets on the docks, great shops and restaurants, amazing night life scene, metro trains connecting the city to parks, woodlands and the coast/beaches. andddd very easy to commute/ visit manchester only 50 minutes by train if you donāt wanna support liverpool or everton fc hahaha
okay š interesting š
i fear iād be a bit hesitant to move all the way across the world to a city iāve never set foot in though buttttt this is very good info
Fanfiction is insane. You can write porn so good you make friends.
what cities are on your list? :)
london, edinburgh, manchester
(+glasgow?)
from my perspective:
london: interesting, big, bustling, lots of opportunities, lots of jobs, always something to do, incredibly convenient for travel. however, super $$$$, massive city, more people to compete with, overwhelming
edinburgh: beautiful, historic, cheaper, i love scotland, still good for travel, lots of beautiful nature nearby. however, smaller than the city i live in now, less opportunities, super touristy
manchester: might be good in-between for jobs and expenses, nice size city, lots of nature nearby, easy to see viv play hehe, seems funky. however iāve never actually been into the city centre, weather is supposedly rubbish, and i donāt find the actual city as compelling as the other two
