Hey happy pride month everyone! lets start things off with some inaris!
Fear, something seris felt rarely, it was a mortal concept to fear, those who were blessed by the abyss rarely felt such emotions, but now it was all that filled seris. There was no war that caused this fear, no beast, no weapon, no pyre, it was 4 simple words that she needed to say
She clutched the ring in her hand, the nervousness filling her body. She knew she loved inara, and she knew the mortal concept of marriage. And though she found it…odd…she thought that the idea of it could work more as a way to say “i love you until the end of time”. Getting the ring, asking inara to meet her was easy, but now that she was here…why was she so scared to do it?! Did she not feel worthy of it? Was it the fear of rejection?
“Hello dear” a voice behind her made seris’ heart jump a bit, she turned to see inara, the stagalla was wearing her usual dress, and had a lovely little flower crown talus had made her earlier. To seris, she looked absolutely stunning, the most beautiful thing in the realm.
“Hello honey, thanks again for coming on such short notice” she smiled
“Its fine, spending time with you is worth any trouble” she sat down next to seris snuggling up close to her as seris rested her head on the stagalla’s arm. “And how could i miss returning to here…the spot of our first hike” she smiled and giggled a bit “and the first time we held hands”
Seris couldn’t help but smirk as well, the fond memories helped calm her nerves a bit, but that fear…it still stayed “i…inara, may i ask you something?”
“Of course what is it?” inara said looking down at the oricle
“W…will you love me..till the end of time…”
Inara looked at her “an..odd question…”
“I know im sorry its stupi-”
“W…what?” seris asked, her heart skipping a beat
“Yes, seris stagalla don’t take love lightly, and…the love i feel for you is stronger than almost any other i have felt” she smiled
Seris was shaking “i..inara i…i want to make an oath…to love each other till the end of time…” she showed the ring “i.its a mortal tradition but i….i think it will work for now as a way to show that..until the end if day i love you so inara..w…will you, marry me?”
Inara stood still, making the fear build up in seris, until she began to laugh, as tears left streaks on her stone face “seris….i…i would be more than happy to take that oath, that ring, and your hand in marriage” she smiled
Gone, every last bit of fear left seris as she embraced inara, pressing her forehead against the stagalla’s as they both shared tears of joy, seris shakily putting the ring on inara, “i love you inara” she smiled
“I love you to…until the end of time” she hugged seris more “and maybe even beyond”
