Ever Wondered what kind of Pressure and Balance you have in the Saddle? Try the Pliance Saddle System!
Ever Wondered what kind of Pressure and Balance you have in the Saddle? Try the Pliance Saddle System!
I was fortunate enough to get a chance to ride Flash with a Pliance saddle mat at a test demonstration at Wilson College. The mat measures harmful pressure points that arise from poor saddle fit also gait symmetry of the horse and the pressure distribution under the saddle during dynamic movement. The system can answer these questions
How does the rider sit? How does the saddle fit? What does…

Adventures in Equine K-tape
Adventures in Equine K-tape
Flash has shown very positive results with the use of K-tape or Kinesiology taping. I started using it on his patella regions on both sides giving support specifically to the lateral patella ligaments. I did not notice a vast improvement so I then tried a flower pattern over each hip and did notice improvement! So I knew I was on the right track. The most recent attempt was the basket weave…

How you too can have that perfect fitting Saddle!
Saddle fit is an underestimated necessity for your horse! How would you feel wearing a way too tight, or too loose pair of pants and then have to carry heavy people around on your back. The answer is a Master Saddle Fitter!
Mine took careful time to measure every inch my horse. She also measured me along with weight measurements height, the length of my legs and torso. My saddle fitter was willing to work along side my saddle designer. She also measured for a Western saddle. The price was surprisingly low compared to what I would have paid for a ready made saddle, it was curiously about the same!
The wonderful news is I have a great saddle measured to fit both me and my horse. The improvement in soundness and gait was noticeable right from the start. The saddle fitting fee was a mere $50.00 and well worth it. Now I have the perfect fit and the perfect ride and an amazing saddle designed just for me and my best equine buddy

Pretty Flash He has the glide ride! But seems to need extra care to keep his hind end right.
The Spotted Saddle horse is a horse breed from the United States that was developed by crossing Spanish-American type gaited pinto ponies with gaited horse breeds, such as the Tennessee Walking Horse.
THE IMPORTANCE OF CORE STRENGTH
Core muscles mobilize and stabilize the horse’s back. Core strength helps to prevent the development of back pain and injuries. The Equiband™ system has been developed specifically to stimulate receptors in the horse’s skin and hair follicles. In response to this stimulation, the abdominal, sublumbar and deep neck and back muscles are activated. These muscles raise and round the back and engage the hindquarters. Regular use of the Equiband™ system strengthens this core musculature, making it easier for the horse to work in a round outline and reducing the risk of pain and injury due to hollowing or instability of the joints in the neck and the back.
Following on from the specific exercises that are used for core strengthening from the ground (Activate Your Horse’s Core – Narelle Stubbs & Hilary Clayton), the Equiband™ system is a completely unique design that promotes continuous core strength training in the lunged and ridden horse.

so nice to see a well balanced rear without the rider pulling on the horse’s mouth
Fix that "un-bendy" neck with a little laser therapy!
K-tape anyone? Flash thinks I should take up basket weaving instead!
