Oh. That's right, Gombe just lives across from you and your grandmother. I thought he was the man who lived in up north, dresses like a panda. /Tilts his head/ Hm? Me? Well, I was going to visit Mako and ask him a few questions over a certain plant. Boring, I guess is what you would assume it is. /Chuckles softly/

[Nods] Yes that is Mister Gombe!  The panda guy is Mister Sheng.  He’s nice because he said he would bring me to see the real pandas on the mountain.

Maybe a little!  [Giggles when he says that she might find their conversation boring, before tilting her head and looking at him]  Mako?  Do you know where Mister Mako lives?

[Antoinette is a little surprised by how quickly she pulls away from her. She wonders if she’s scared of her and tries to sound a lot kinder then before.] I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you. You said you lost your grandma, would it be okay if I helped you find her? [she slowly reaches out her hand so she wouldn’t scare the child] My name is Antoinette, I’m the princess of Zephyr Town. And what may I call you?

... [Stares at the woman, hugging her panda close to her and listening to her speak] ... It's okay. [Nods] Yes... I lost grandma.  We were supposed to meet by the big windmill if I got lost but now I can't find it.

? [Thinks for a moment, then nods once more, thinking that the stranger looked nice enough] Thank you, Miss... Miss... ? [Her eyes widen slightly] Princess?  Thank you Miss Princess Ant... Antoin... [Frowns as she is finding it difficult to say her name] Thank you Miss Princess!

Um... !  My name is Ying.  [Holds out her panda in front of her face] And this is Panda!

Panda Friends (Xiao Pai/Ying)

Oh…I see. So it seems dirty air makes you sick, yes? Then it seems it is important you get very healthy. That may help you to also grow up more, yes? When a person’s body is ill, it seems that the body spends more time fighting off sickness and germs, instead of growing taller or stronger. That makes sense, yes?

And your grandmother must be very nice, yes? It seems that only nice people would live in a pretty town like this. /Smiles/ And I am certainly that your parents must be proud of you for being such a good girl! It seems I can tell that about you already, yes?

Ah, I see now, yes! Boys are always doing annoying things like that. But it seems they are less annoying when they get a little bigger. /Laughs/ And it is a good thing for Rahi’s mom Ina!

/Nods/ It seems so. And it seems Forte is very strong, but she is scared of some things! It is also funny because she likes sweets very, very much, but she is embarrassed for people to know that. She thinks it is bad for a knight to like sweet things! Oh… /shakes her head/ No, it seems we do not have a king or a  queen. But instead, it seems we have a prince and princess, yes? Also it seems there is Lady Ventuswill.

/Her eyes widen/ It seems I am afraid because it happened once, yes! It seems Papa played a trick on me, and it was very gross to eat! He said he was sorry, though…Papa never plays tricks to be mean, yes?

Aww! /Smiles broadly/ It seems you have taught Panda very good manners, yes!

... ? [Thinks on the woman's words for a moment, before soon nodding her head in agreement] Y-Yes the dirty air makes me sick... !  I cough a lot and sometimes I can't even leave my bed... so that's why I stay with grandma.  This way I can not be sick so much and I can grow up to be healthy...

A-And yes grandma is very nice!  Everyone in Konohana is very nice and I'm happy I get to spend every day with them.  [Blushes and nods once more]  U-Um... I hope Mama and Papa are proud of me... !  They send me lots of letters and it sounds like it... I try to be a good girl because that makes them happy.

Yes!  Bigger boys aren't so annoying.  Like Mister Phillip sometimes plays with me and Mister Sheng shows me the pandas in the forest.

? [Holds a hand up to her mouth and giggles quietly] Misses Forte sounds funny... and she also sounds cool because she's a knight.  [Pauses and her eyes widen when Xiao Pai says that they have a prince and princess, and Ying begins asking question after question] R-Really?  What is the princess like, is she nice?  What about the prince?  What is a Lady Ventuswill?

! [Smiles] Y-Yes... Panda is a very polite panda... ♥

This place reminded her of…home. The style of the buildings were more modernised than the ones she had remember in Taiji. Well, it wasn’t Taiji, so it would look more modernised. Where was she anyways?

Being lost usually bothered her, however, it didn’t bother her much this time. She felt comfortable though. Looking around the area, she decided to continue down the unpaved road towards a small field she noticed in the distance. The way it was set up, was just like the old farmer in Taiji. It was the trenches that must have reminded her. Those were always fun run in.

Continuing down the path, the fields became more noticeable. They looked nice. Now was not the time to be focusing all her attention on the crops. She needed to find someone to navig   Hey! There was someone.

It was a young girl, she looked no older than seven. She held a panda in her arms. Perhaps she could guide Amanda around the place. It was worth a shot.

“Excuse me, sweetheart!” She approached the girl. “Do you think you could help me?”

[panda-and-ying]

Ying stood outside, not really sure what to do and finding herself to be quite bored.  Her grandma had to take care of the tea shop, Phillip was on a trip to another town, Rahi was off being 'busy' again, and the little girl had nobody to play with.

Standing in the middle of a path, the little girl stared up at the sky and watched as a small butterfly flew past her.  "Pretty... " Her eyes were wide as she look at the creature, and then she frowned as it disappeared from sight.

"... !" Suddenly Ying heard someone coming towards her, and she focused her attention on the source of the noise.  Once she saw the stranger, she took a step away before listening to her speak.  "Um..." she started, not really sure how to respond.  "I g-guess... I could.  What did you need help with... ?"

Panda Friends (Xiao Pai/Ying)

/Eyes widen in curiosity/ You do not live with your mama and papa? It seems I know how that feels, but not very much, yes? When I was little, it seems I lived with Papa, but away from Mama. And now it seems I live with Mama, but Papa is always traveling for his job so he does not live with us right now. But it is very fun when he comes to visiting, yes?

Rahi? /Frowns/ It seems he should not pick on you no matter how old either of you are, yes? It seems that you should go find a grown-up if Rahi is being a bully. /Leans in as though telling a shocking secret/ It seems boys always look very funny when they get in trouble, yes?

/Smiles/ It seems everyone has something they are scared of even when they get bigger, yes? There is a knight in my town, and it seems she has some very silly fears, even though she is very strong! For the example, it seems I am afraid of accidentally eating a tomato when it is on top of a cake, yes?

Aww, that is cute name! And it seems Panda is also very cute, yes! /Points to her hair accessory/ It seems I also have a panda friend, yes?

[Shakes her head] N-No I don't live with them anymore.  I did when I was... um, littler, but now I can't because they live in the city and I'm not allowed to live there.  Mama and Papa sent me to live with Grandma because they said that living in Konohana would help me to not be sick anymore.  [Tilts her head, then nods]  But yes, it's very nice when I can see Mama and Papa!  It's been a long time though... I miss them.

Um, no... Rahi doesn't pick on me too long.  He just brings me frogs because he likes frogs, but I don't like frogs!  But sometimes he is nice to me so it's okay.  [Listens as Xiao Pai leans in, and then giggles quietly]  I guess so!  Rahi gets in trouble with his mom, Ina, a lot.

Even adults have things that they are scared of?  [Her eyes widen as she hears the word knight] You have a knight in your town?  I thought knights were supposed to be big and strong and not be scared of anything!  Does that mean you have a king and a queen too? [Furrows her eyebrows and then laughs once more when she hears Xiao Pai's fear]  That's silly... ♥

[Nods and smiles at the girl] Thank you.  Panda says thank you too!  [Her smile broadens when she sees the hair accessory]  We have matching pandas!

/Nods/ It seems so. What is your name? /Blinks/ Oh, but if you do not want to tell it to a stranger, it seems that is also wise, yes?

? [Shrugs] I want to grow up soon though so I can go visit Mama and Papa by myself... and Rahi can't pick on me... and I won't be scared of things anymore.

Um... that's okay... you're just a girl so I think it's okay.  My name is Ying... [Holds up her stuffed toy] And this is Panda.

[panda-and-ying]

And she left you alone...? /Pauses for a moment, trying to remember which old man was Gombe/ Well, at least you're getting some fresh air. That's good.

? [Nods] Yes!  It’s okay, grandma is only right across from here. [Points at the house just a little ways away] 

I’m supposed to get lots of fresh air so… yes it’s good!

What are you doing here Mister Cam?

What's your favorite food? Can you make it yourself if you have all the ingredients?

My… My favourite food is pancakes!

[Shakes her head] No… I can’t make pancakes.  I need the stove and the frying pan and I’m too little to use that…

… But grandma lets me mix the batter… !

/Walking by the tea house when he notices Ying outside, smiles at her/ Hello, Ying. What are you doing outside right now? /Looks around/ Is your grandmother home?

[Watches as Cam approaches, smiling softly back at him] Hi Mister Cam.  Grandma said I should get some fresh air so that’s what I’m doing.

[Shakes her head in reply to his final question] Um, no she’s not.  She went to visit Mister Gombe I think.

Hm? /Looks up/ Oh! Yes, it seems I am very fine! /Stands up, then smiles/ Wow! It seems you looked much taller when I was on the ground, yes? But it seems you are very nice to worry about clumsy Xiao Pai! /Pats her on the head, actually kind of glad to be doing the head-patting for once in her life/

[Nods and watches as the girl stands up] Um... that's good, but I'm not very tall at all.  [Tilts her head slightly as she looks up at the woman, nervously frowning as she pats her head]  Is that your name... ?  Xiao Pai?

The Case of the Missing Panda || [Ying/Phillip]

  Frogs? [Can’t help but chuckle at the little girl’s statement, shaking his head back and forth.] Rahi really has got to understand that girl’s aren’t really too found of animals like frogs —

  !!! [Blinks in surprise, before allowing his expression to soften as he places a hand on her head.] Hey now .. We’ll find him before it gets dark, don’t you worry about that. ♪ [Rises from his knelt position with a smile laced on his lips.] Now we’ll go check the mountain, I bet he’s just chewing on some bamboo or something of the sorts - he won’t be too far ♪.

[Nods and looks up at Phillip as he places his hand on her head]  I don't like frogs... [Sniffles and raises a hand up to rub her eye, before watching at he stands up once more] O-Okay... thank you Mister Phillip.

... ! [Reaches out to grab Phillip's hand] Y-Yeah... maybe he's eating or... or maybe he's playing with the other pandas on the mountain!

/Still talking to herself/ It seems a town like this must have something like yummy manju to eat...but I must find-! /Before she can finish her thought, she trips, and with a loud cry, falls flat/ ...Oof.

? [Watches as the girl talks to herself, before jumping up in surprise as she falls] ... ! [Runs forward towards the stranger and stares down at her, though does not offer to help her up] Um... um, excuse me... are you okay?
